Approx a year ago, Billie and I broke ground on a plastic-lined gravel garden overgrown with weeds. My aim, to produce a textural, lush, dense garden that surprises you as you enter the gate and hides the old fence.
Other than clearing the old garden, I did it myself, and today I wheelbarrowed my last wheelbarrow load of mulch, officially “done” and over to nature to grow. 🌿

NEW WORK ✨️ At the end of last year I created illustrations for a giant 19-metre wallpaper for the Melbourne Museum Titanic High Tea. The shapes were inspired by the original wallpaper from the Titanic, but brightened to match the decor and sprinkled with gold flecks.

Introducing 𝘊𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘢 𝘋𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘢, a new side table for The Sheepskin Suite, a Melbourne Design Week 2026 installation hosted by Wilson & Dorset and Kelly Thompson at Abbotsford Convent.
𝘊𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘢 𝘋𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘢 is a side table that sits somewhere between object and being. A raw aluminium shell holds and compresses a dense body of sheepskin, while the fur pushes upward, breaking softly through the structure and spilling gently over the top. This exposed softness becomes the work’s point of contact: a place for the hand to rest, stroke and slowly meander through the wool.
Part furniture, part sculpture, part companion, the piece brings together hard metal and animal warmth, restraint and softness, protection and captivity. It carries a sense of the animal presence still held within the material: something bodily, familiar and quietly alive.
Through this intimate encounter, 𝘊𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘶𝘳𝘢 𝘋𝘰𝘮𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘪𝘤𝘢 continues my interest in tactile experiences, bodily presence and objects that invite instinctive gestures of touch.
The Sheepskin Suite brings together the work of 14 designers within a living room setting where sheepskin takes centre stage, inviting visitors to experience the warmth, texture and versatility of this natural material.

At this year’s Melbourne Design Week 2026, New Zealand sheepskin brand Wilson & Dorset presents an installation that reimagines the domestic interior through a single material.
The Sheepskin Suite transforms a historic room into a textural immersion, where the floor, the furniture, sculptural objects and even lamps are enveloped in sheepskin, showcasing works by 15 creatives that were each invited to interpret the material in their own way.
The result is a sensory landscape designed not just to be seen, but experienced. “We want people to interact with it, sit on it, feel it, touch it, walk on it,” Wilson & Dorset say. “Take photos, be silly. It’s not a serious experience. We don’t even mind if people fall asleep.”
