Soccer-filled weekend in Charlotte.
Saturday:
Sophia’s team down 2–0 at half vs. Triangle United. No panic...Just belief. The girls clawed their way back to win 3–2.. and Sophia stepped up and buried the PK to tie it!
Big moment. Bigger composure.
Sunday:
Girls Academy Talent ID Session.
Cold. Windy. Not ideal conditions. Didn’t matter.
Sophia and her teammates showed up, worked, competed, and repped their club while getting some meaningful experience with their conference’s top players!
Proud soccer parents for sure!
The wins are fun… but watching them persevere, respond, and keep chasing big things?
That’s the real joy!

As a dad, it’s special watching Sophia and her teammates grow into moments like this. As a photographer, it’s a joy and an honor to capture it… to freeze a play, a reaction, a milestone… and turn it into a memory that lasts.
So proud of these 2012 girls and proud of every Independence player who earned the same opportunity!

We never wanted to push too hard… just hoped soccer might bring her the same joy it gave us growing up.
Somewhere along the way, it clicked.
You could see it in her eyes, the way she chased every play.
Over ten years later, that spark’s still there… burning bright every time she steps on the field.
It’s been one of the best things to watch unfold.
Sports photography has always felt like coming full circle for me. Growing up playing hockey and soccer in western Pennsylvania, my mom and another parent were always on the sidelines with a camera in hand — capturing memories that became our time capsules. Without their dedication (and thousands of developed 4x6 prints!), many of those moments would’ve existed only as stories shared years later.
The technology may have changed since then, but the feeling hasn’t — that rush of freezing a perfect moment and sharing it with others who were part of it. That same spark drives me today as I aim to capture and preserve the joy, emotion, and energy of youth sports.
What started as documenting my daughter’s soccer journey has grown into something more — a chance to give other families lasting memories of the games and seasons that mean so much. I’m grateful for the inspiration from those who came before me, and I’m excited to keep doing what I love: capturing the moments that matter and sharing the joy they bring!
