Tonight at the 4 Star Theater in SF ! Limited Edition posters available, VHS tapes for sale through @cherub.dream.records and some other goodies too ! Cast will be in attendance ! There's so much music from friends in this film you they're probably your friend too! You won't want to miss it ! See all you lovers and haters tonight !!
If you’re a fan of the local alternative rock scene, then make sure you’re at 4 Star Theater on Friday, May 1st, for a special screening of the local short film Be Here Now, with live performances by Christina’s Trip and Spa.
Be Here Now, directed by Lower Grand Radio alums Chichi Castillo and Lauren Melton, follows a return home that doesn’t stay quiet for long. What starts as a low-key visit turns into a long, messy, deeply human night, pulling from queer ‘90s and 2000s aesthetics and teen drama energy to explore loss, friendship, and the strange gravity of shared history. It’s DIY at its core, but emotionally sharp in a way that lingers.
Local musicians feature prominently both as actors in the film and on the soundtrack, including La Doña & Tia Nomore, Love Spiral, Nothing Natural, Tricky FM, Katsy Pline, gem777, Figure Eight, and Christina’s Trip, who will be performing songs featured in the film alongside Spa.
This is an incredible opportunity to celebrate a film that centers members of our music community, and shows them stretching out and showing us their talents go far beyond writing songs, which is why this is White Crate’s Show of the Week.

April 5 - looking forward to joining our buddies Seventies Tuberide (menders of Tomorrow's Tulips, Allah-las, Semi-Trucks) at the lovely 4star Theatre. You can also catch them the following night opening for The Strokes. Come say hello 🙃
@folkyeahevents@4startheater@seventiestuberide
TONIGHT, SUNDAY 1/25, FROM 6-9PM PACIFIC: you’re invited to join me and @dianajeanskeen on @kalxradio as we bring you our BEST OF 2025 edition of please save my earth radio—helping close out this year’s Best of Week on KALX! 🌙
You can find us by drifting on over to 90.7FM in the Bay or by checking out the website, kalx.berkeley.edu, where you can access the archived stream of last week’s show AND see a TON of 2025-related lists from KALX DJs and volunteers—including ours! You can also find direct links at our link in bio… 👀
That said, let us emphasize that we have a complicated relationship with words/concepts like “best” and our list is NOWHERE NEAR EXHAUSTIVE, ALL-ENCOMPASSING, or FOCUSED ON COMPARING QUALITY (whatever that means 🤪)—instead, think of it as the stuff that really MOVED US, CARRIED US, and MADE US FEEL in 2025. 🥹
Last year was filled with a lot of sadness (both personally and existentially), but it was filled with so much good too—so ty to each and every one of you for being part of it alongside us and how can I NOT be thankful for a year of getting to listen to music and DJ with my BEST FRIEND? 😭
Speaking of which, keep it locked to KALX as next week (Sunday 2/1) will be our last regularly scheduled psme radio on Sunday nights for the foreseeable future. It’s been such a blast but all good things come to an end, so stay tuned for what’s coming next. 💫 #eastbayemorevival

I've never done one of these before and it was so, so hard. I'm not really a collector, and the experience of music is pretty ephemeral for me. I could go on, but I'll save it for @kalwpublicmedia and @kalwmusic . Lots of me talking about music in the near future. So stay tuned. ✨️ But in the meantime- please give these artists a listen. Except for one obvious standout (((hi @stereolabgroop ))), these are underground artists that would love your support. Listen and share if you 💜
