This film is especially near and dear to my heart as it tells the story of #hampriseup, the 2019 Hampshire College Student Protests that SAVED THEIR SCHOOL from closing. It was also the longest student sit in in US history. When I was at @smithcollege as an undergrad, the @fivecolleges / 5 College Consortium included @hampshirecollege . I made friends and took classes there that weren’t offered at Smith like Art Education and Large Format Photography. It’s a truly unique place that fosters remarkably unusual thinkers and makers so I was STOKED when Amy Goldstein reached out to me not knowing I was a former resident of the Pioneer Valley. This film captures the power and determination of a new generation who LITERALLY SAVES THEIR SCHOOL. Go see it!
The Unmaking of a College will be screening at @ifccenter in NYC, @laemmletheatres in Santa Monica and Claremont, as well as at @pasadenaplayhouse .
