This retrofit project converted a run down and underutilised gym into a new STEAM and staff hub, an exercise in doing a lot with not much by reusing existing materials, adpating spaces and carefully inserting new elements within the existing structure to create a series of welcoming upgraded learning spaces.

Designed as an adaptable covered space, the new covered outdoor court and community spaces for Officer Specialist School (Stage 1) are carefully connected to existing spaces. The new structure provides a flexible solution for the school's outdoor learning, community gathering, assemblies, as well as much needed protection from the elements for students during play times.
As the first stage of a larger masterplan, the bulding stitches existing admin, PE, learning spaces and playgrounds together.

A low cost and contextual response to inner suburban densification. Replacing a crumbling weatherboard with a two compact townhouses, the new duplex respects the surrounding suburban scale and retains space for native gardens to the street and generous north facing courtyards at the back on the tight site.

Exhibition - Late last year House B was included in Housing 25 @housing.exhibition , an international exhibition of contemporary housing projects, curated by the Faculty of Civil Engineering and Architecture in Niš (Croatia), in collaboration with the Urban Planning Cluster.

The second stage of a 3000sqm masterplan for Officer SS, this new building is designed as a series of flexible learning spaces which can be rearranged to simulate a variety of life scenarios, empowering students with life skills as they prepare to graduate.
