@theststyle big fashion special is out today aka the biannual labour of love that tests us in all sorts of ways and usually leaves me with a bit of an eye twitch. This one is by all accounts a proper banger with so many brilliantly written features and beautiful fashion. I can’t pick a favourite, instead here are a few highlights. You can read them online but honestly, if I were you, I’d go buy a paper. Better still take that paper to the pub, order a pint of Guinness and lean in. You know it makes sense.
Props always to my excellent editor @stylelaura to Charlotte Williamson and of course, @andrewbarlow who makes it all sing.
The Style team is small but formidable, it’s a joy to get to work with so many brilliant people every day. @flossiesaunders@verityparker@helen_atkin@annarjsilverman@tracy_ramsden@phoebejmcd@hannahroseconnolly_@alicia_leech@wearethesunset@joshrnld@northbank@chanelleho@ellarcutt@karlashield and the rest (who don’t want me to know their Instagram handles) 1. Freya Nutter, shot on a cold day in nyc by @tomschirmacher and styled by @verityparker
2. Jess Mills talking to @annarjsilverman about her beautiful new memoir - the most heartfelt and emotive thing I’ve read in years.
3. @bailey.moon who tells @annarjsilverman what it’s really like to dress Rama Duwaji.
4. @amyfrancombe_ on how what you wear impacts your behaviour.
5. @helen_atkin making a case for wearing 3 shirts at once.
6. @lauracraik and a brilliant interview with Marisa Berenson - aka Elsa Schiaparelli’s granddaughter.

7. That pink @chanel shirt
8. @markc_oflaherty on the new Antwerp Six exhibition opening in Belgium next month.
And more. So much more.
David and Angela of IDEA books. Funny and enterprising with excellent taste and some fantastic stories about how they came to open the chicest bookshop in the land. They humoured my questions about the caps too. Interview in today’s @theststyle@idea.ltd
Daytime candles, choppy ferry crossings, grandma’s soup in the car boot, loony dooking, white sands, cold fingers and even colder ears, deer for days, cheeky pints, seals, cousin love (see also FIFA 26), dad’s favourite dram, the super moon, Scott McTominay – and the most beautiful country in the world.
What proper joy it was to momentarily swap fashion week for a night out with @ly.as and his army of faithful followers. The fashion watch party - sweeping Europe - has all the good vibes you might associate with watching the football down the pub with your mates and none of the heart wrenching disappointment (looking at you Leyton Orient). The clientele are vastly better dressed too. I’m very much here for anything that makes fashion less stuffy and more attainable to all. See also, people smiling. If you find yourself in Paris next week do join the watch party movement. Link to today’s feature in my bio.
Beautiful pics by @isabellademaddalenaphotography (we never did get to have that Campari!) thank you for insights @hettymahlich@davinawedderburn@hannahroseconnolly_ and all the brilliant people who took the time to chat.
Don’t miss @theststyle today- it’s such a good one. Put together by the most excellent team, the tolerant genius that is our art director @andrewbarlow and brilliantly edited by @stylelaura (we love August really, don’t we?).
There is crucial autumn shopping inspiration brought to you by @flossiesaunders and @helen_atkin
THE most glorious @erinoconnor shoot, dreamt up by @verityparker who reminds us why a Yorkshire bus stop is the most glamorous place on earth. See also Erin’s very candid interview with Charlotte Williamson.
Excellent beauty insights for the season ahead thanks to @phoebejmcd and @chanelleho
Paris Hilton talking style mistakes with @tracy_ramsden
Features by the brilliant @lauraantoniajordan@missvictoriamoss@miss_mccarthy@cosgravebronwyn
Sean McGirr who talked to me about what it was like stepping in Sarah Burton’s shoes.
AND MORE. SO MUCH MORE.
As the daughter of a desperately missed Dylan mega fan (my youngest is named in his honour), I jumped at the opportunity to talk Bob with the incredible @ariannephillips - costume designer of the new biopic. Wonderful Arianne, a proper legend of our industry, spent years researching the great man ahead of the film, immersing herself in books such as Daniel Kramer’s A Year and A Day (home to this epic picture) and getting up and close with those who love and know him. It pays off. A Complete Unknown is a lesson in original (unrivalled!) rock and roll style - altered Levi’s, lived in white t-shirts, pinstripes and all. Go see it - it’s Disney Dylan but I really loved it (sobbed throughout). Link in bio if you fancy a read.
