UNDERCURRENT
experiential installation by sē @rinii__@jcbkerr alongside @mondreanu as part of the opening of @non_artspace ++++ collaborations curated by @grigorescudimitrie & @hera_______________
UNDERCURRENT is an immersive exploration of the unpredictability of the Icarian waters and the feelings related to their presence.
Inspired by the island’s deep currents, the fearsome myths surrounding them, and our personal story, we seek to connect to the feeling of thrill that comes from interacting with intimidating forces outside our control.
Through sensory recreation, we assemble the elemental forces of a current and translate the myth and the might of the Icarian sea into an experiential narrative.

Ciné selvedge is the second episode of the TELL ME I EXIST series launched by K41 in collaboration with local artists and researchers in early summer of 2023.
Between the 8th-9th of September, the intimate terrace of K41 transforms into a summer cinema where screenings of diverse video projects will be presented alongside a curated tasting menu. For this episode, we hope to collaborate with creatives in and outside of Copenhagen that work with moving image content.
𝗖𝗜𝗡𝗘 𝗦𝗘𝗟𝗩𝗘𝗗𝗚𝗘
Ciné
Cine originates from movement. Relating both to the architectural space of the event, the picture screened itself and the transitive verb for motion, it lends us the conceptual space for the montage of words and definitions we attempt.
Selvedge
Literally referring to one’s own edge, composed by the words self and edge, selvedge exists in thresholds and embodies transitions.
Referring here to the embodied flux between the centre and the periphery, the word reflects on the exteriority that materialises along borders/margins.
Selvedge also suggests the hybrid space generated between the self and the other, stimulated by the co-creative process that pushes one outside their defined shell, physical or psychical, in order to meet in the liquid space in between.
𝗛𝗢𝗪 𝗧𝗢 𝗕𝗘 𝗙𝗘𝗔𝗧𝗨𝗥𝗘𝗗
As we are looking for the projects that will comprise the curation of ciné selvedge, we invite independent voices that act in and around the universe of moving image to reach out to us.
Submissions can span across, but are not limited to, short movies, videoclips, animations, documentaries. If you are working on something exciting, we want to see :)
If this sounds like a conversation you would like to be part of, please send us a message, a dm or an email by the 𝟭𝟰𝘁𝗵 𝗼𝗳 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁.
