I made my first jacket 😭🥹 & This one means everything to me. More than a year ago, this was just an idea in my head, the vision of creating a jacket under JW Studios that truly reflects my DNA. Something honest. Something timeless. Something you can wear every single day, without overthinking it. At the beginning of 2025, I reached out to Marcus, who already had experience in this space. At first, I just wanted to understand the process, to learn how something like this even comes to life. But through that, it turned into something more. We started developing the jacket together. No shortcuts, no blueprint, just figuring it out step by step. We built our own pattern, made the first samples ourselves, learning through every mistake along the way. After that, I connected with @velour , who helped me find the right production in Portugal and made the next steps possible. From there, it became a process of constant refining, going through prototype after prototype, adjusting, improving, starting over again. There were moments where it felt like it would never come together. But we kept going. Now, I can finally say, it’s real. Handmade in Portugal. Herringbone twill fabric. Sun-faded finish. Double zipper. Sizes S to XL. Dropping this Sunday. Every detail you see was built from the ground up by us. This project was never about mass production or profit. It’s about creating something meaningful, from a small brand, with real intention behind it. I also want to say thank you. I’m extremely grateful for Marcus and @velour without them, this project wouldn’t have been possible. Also, a big thank you to @mariusknieling , @iamtolgah , @danielminkhoi , @elisaxlc and @sakegrni All of you played a part in this project and made it possible for me to share this content. If you want to support the journey, it truly means a lot. And if you’re looking for a jacket you can live in every day, this might be it.

Mizuno MXR "Kuro Gaki" 💜👨🏻‍🌾 • With "Kuro Gaki", we continue the journey that began with our first Kakishibu project. As our second collaboration with Mizuno, it represents a natural progression of the series exploring the balance between tradition, material, and experimentation. Inspired by the rare black persimmon, we focused on deep purple to near-black tones more refined and unpredictable than the familiar bright orange fruit. This contrast defines the concept. We used an intense purple dye to achieve that depth, while preserving a direct link to Kakishibu craftsmanship. Select elements including the exterior flag label and tongue label marked “1/30” are treated with authentic Kakishibu dye, highlighting both process and limited quantity. Finishing details include our signature chain stitch on the front wings a subtle element that completes the pair. "Kuro Gaki" marks a darker, more experimental step in the series, while staying rooted in tradition. Important Note: Due to the dyeing process, color transfer may occur, especially onto socks and lighter materials.

"Golden Reconstructed" 204L‘s 💛🪵 • For this project, I reimagined the New Balance 204L through a radical structural transformation, aiming to give the silhouette an entirely new aesthetic and presence. The process began by fully removing the original sole unit, reducing the shoe to its upper. Built entirely from suede, the base provided the perfect foundation for a deep material treatment. I applied a specialized dye chosen for its ability to fully saturate suede, resulting in a rich golden-yellow tone. The color was absorbed evenly while still allowing subtle variations across the different panels, enhancing the depth and character of the upper. As the original sole left visible adhesive marks, a small suede patch was stitched onto the front area to cover and integrate this section into the overall design. To redefine the construction, a vegetable-tanned leather frame in a natural tone was introduced, adding both structure and contrast. This was paired with a lightweight EVA midsole and finished with a Vibram outsole — shifting the shoe into a more robust, grounded, and expressive form. The final touch comes through a set of vintage-style laces with a subtle waxed finish, tying the concept together and reinforcing the balance between craft, materiality, and a more rugged visual language. • Independent handmade customization on an authentic New Balance base pair. Craft as language. Material as story. Process over noise. For this new episode we spoke with Jakob about starting at 17, following intuition instead of overthinking, and why true craftsmanship will always outlive automation. From hand-dyed footwear to collaborations with ASICS, Adidas and PUMA, his work is less about categories and more about curiosity. Don’t overthink. Just start. Momentum creates clarity. "sashiko" HOFF Bridge MKII’s 🪡💙 • For this project, the entire shoe was dyed in a deep navy tone, allowing only the suede to fully absorb and express the color. All side panels and the tongue were reconstructed using a custom patchwork fabric composed of three different vintage Japanese cotton textiles. Each fabric panel was individually reinforced and unified using traditional Japanese Sashiko stitching, seamlessly integrating the materials while adding both structure and character. The original contrast stitching was carefully preserved to maintain the silhouette’s authentic detailing. The design is completed with subtle cream-colored flat laces, adding a refined and understated finish to the overall composition.

"Checkered Sashiko" Cornaro’s 🧶🍃 • For this project, I reimagined the Diemme Cornaro through a full custom transformation. The upper was reconstructed using a Japanese cotton-linen fabric in a subtle check pattern, cut into small panels and reassembled with an all-over Sashiko-style stitch to create a richly textured, handcrafted surface. The tongue was completely rebuilt and wrapped in the same material for a cohesive finish. The original eyelets were replaced with classic hiking hardware, and the pair was finished with olive-green laces to reinforce the boot’s outdoor character. For the first time, I developed this project as a sample in a women’s size and styled it on a woman to highlight the versatility of the silhouette and to emphasize that Diemme footwear can be equally relevant and expressive in a feminine context. • Independent handmade customization on an authentic Diemme base pair.
