Hopping on this trend because 2016 was THAT year. Many highlights, including a life-changing one (get to that below 👀): • Meeting the incredible @msvfox and quoting her iconic Set It Off line “What’s the procedure when you got a gun at your head?” She LOVED it 😄🎬 • Meeting the late, legendary Stan Lee. Absolute icon and just so cool. 🕷️🦸🏽‍♂️ • Working as a stagehand on Beyoncé’s iconic Formation World Tour. What an experience. Didn’t see the queen, but @steve.massey and I accidentally stumbled into her dressing room while looking for lunch 😅 • A long-overdue reunion with my homies since HS @len_b30 and @deshperera4 Nothing but laughs and good energy 🖤 • My rap-battle shooting days with @kotdtv Legendary battles, amazing people, history made 🎤🔥 But the biggest highlight that year, well, my life •Spending 6 weeks in Africa, between South Africa and Botswana 🐘🦁🌍 Seeing the animals I grew up reading about and watching on TV, including ALL the top predators, was a dream come true😍 I even had some very close encounters.👀😬 • Also swam in a crocodile-free waterhole, took in the vastness of the landscape, and met truly incredible people along the way. • Best of all, I was there on an internship with my childhood heroes and legendary wildlife filmmakers @dereckjoubert and @beverlyjoubert That’s still crazy to me!😱 I’ve said it for the last 10 years, I’d go back tomorrow! • And to cap it off, sharing those adventures on @breakfasttelevision while raising awareness for conservation on #worldrhinoday . I was also unknowingly planting the seeds for #onthewildside years later 🌱🦏 2016… what a TIME✨ #2016trend

Earlier this month, I was thrilled to attend the Global Exploration Summit (GLEX) @glexsummit_ in our nation’s capital. 🇨🇦🌍✨ Usually held in Portugal, this year’s summit partnered with @the_explorers_club and @rcgs_sgrc and as a proud member of both the @explorers_club_canada and the Royal Canadian Geographical Society and it was incredible to be among such an inspiring group of people😍 The event featured explorers across science, adventure, and even space, sharing stories filled with wonder, impact, and empathy. After taking much of this year to regroup, reshape, and reframe, being in that room was exactly what I needed. Huge thanks to Explorers Club, RCGS and @cangeo and for putting together such a powerful gathering of explorers and visionaries. 🚀🗺️🔥

Coyotes have been making headlines, but misinformation, myths, and fear-driven narratives come with the coverage. On the latest edition of #onthewildside🐾 with #breakfasttelevision I joined @themelanieng and @itsdevobrown to separate fact from fiction and share what we need to do to coexist with these urban survivors. Coyotes aren’t villains—they’re essential to urban ecosystems, helping to keep rodent populations in check and maintaining balance. The real issue? Habitat loss, human feeding( directly or indirectly)and off-leash dogs have made it harder for coyotes to navigate cities like Toronto. As urban sprawl continues, they’re simply adapting to survive. Too often, we focus on the effects of human- wildlife conflict rather than the causes. But by changing our behavior, we can create a safer, more balanced urban environment for both people and wildlife. Coyotes aren’t going anywhere. The key isn’t elimination—it’s coexistence. For more information on urban coyotes, check out @coyotewatchcanada and @torontowildlifecentre 👕 @fjcanada_ca

Another unforgettable adventure! 🐘✨ As part of #breakfasttelevision live shows at @waltdisneyworld I had the incredible opportunity to go behind the scenes at @disneysanimalkingdom for the Caring for Giants tour at Kilimanjaro Safaris! 🌿🚍 This tour gets you up close—just 80 to 100 feet away!—to the majestic African elephants while you learn from Disney’s expert team about the top-notch care they receive. From how they keep the elephants engaged and healthy to how they identify each one, the passion and dedication of the staff are truly inspiring (all with no physical contact) The experience also shines a light on Disney’s important conservation work through the @disneyconservation fund, including their amazing partnership with @savetheelephants which helps reduce human-elephant conflicts in Africa. And the best part? 100% of the proceeds from the tour go directly to protecting these amazing creatures from poaching and habitat loss. 🌍🐘 Being part of this tour was an amazing , and I highly recommend making it a must-do on your Disney adventure! Huge thank you to the team at @disneyparks and the amazing team at BT for this incredible opportunity, encouragement and support🙏🏾❤️

This week, #breakfasttelevision is live from @waltdisneyworld 🎥✨As part of the awesome coverage, I had the amazing opportunity to explore the African Birds Aviary at @disneysanimalkingdom 🦜🌍. I went behind the scenes at Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail to see firsthand t how the dedicated keepers care for over 180 birds representing 26 species from across the African continent! -each one as unique and colorful as the next! 🌈🐦 Through this immersive experience, Disney promotes conservation efforts and inspires guests to care about wildlife preservation. The aviary is also part of Disney’s larger conservation work, including the @disneyconservation fund which helps protect bird species and their habitats worldwide. Huge thank you to the team at @disneyparks and the amazing team at BT for this incredible opportunity, encouragement and support🙏🏾❤️

Recently, I participated in releasing 70 baby snapping turtles, each about the size of a loonie, back into the Humber River. @turtleprotectorshighpark led this after they rescued the eggs when they were submerged during July’s record-breaking floods across the city. Thanks to the dedication of volunteers, who carefully dug up and sent them to the @torontowildlifecentre they were incubated, successfully hatched, and set free. The release was covered by @citynewsto and featured on #breakfasttelevision Bright Spot of the Day, highlighting the importance of protecting local wildlife. It’s a great reminder that you don’t have to travel far to make a difference—there’s work to be done in your backyard. Turtle Protectors, an amazing Indigenous and volunteer-led group of 140 members, tirelessly reconciles human impacts on turtles and protects them in 8 parks across Toronto. Right now, they’re especially busy as hatchlings emerge from their nests, and they could use any extra help. Want to make a difference? Support local wildlife organizations like Turtle Protectors and help protect the creatures we share our world with. Every little bit counts! 🌍💚

Kicking off @jv_wild ’s birthday the best way we know how - learning about wildlife at the @romtoronto and ending with food at the new @sushimomomtl Toronto location!⁣ ⁣ I now know that lions and even black panthers can have spots (slide 3), you can check a cat for fleas from their tongue, and I was always concerned about how the animals are obtained, and I finally received a really detailed answer (slide 8).⁣ ⁣ Sushi Momo did not disappoint. Their fresh sushi melts in your mouth, and the smooth sake was the perfect pairing👌🏽⁣ ⁣ We had a blast with you Julian, hope you have an incredible rest of your birthday 🥳⁣ ⁣ #sushimomo #romtoronto #vegansushi #bigcats #romtorontomeuseum #wildcat #wildlife
