~ BOTTOM FEEDER ~
This was a poem that came out of thin air, well it came from some pretty heavy emotions earlier this year actually. Feelings of not being understood.
So I wrote about it. As a man who has overcome addictions, psychosis, mental health issues all of that jazz, it's difficult for other people to comprehend what you've been through when now might come across as well-rounded and put together.
I've put myself together from times when I had felt torn apart. In pieces. Shattered. Broken. But see you're not broken, you're just cracked... And that's how the light gets in.
Anyway this piece is very vulnerable but it's about perserverance. It's about being able to get back up again. About keeping going no matter what life throws your way.
Special thanks to both @plugtapspr1 and @winckleystreetalehouse for letting me come in proper early to record this whilst they were setting up. Cracking establishments. Check them out if you haven't already. Ben & Jonny you legends.
So this poetry thing is pretty cool.
Over the last few weeks I've been busy with some performances, commissions and workshops around Preston.
I've performed in front of the Madam Mayor for the @prestonvolunteers Volunteers award.
I performed for the Community Partnership event for PACT (Institute for Planetary Resilience and Community Transformation at @unilancashire
I held a workshop for Refugee week, community festival. Which was beautiful to sit with and empower people to write their own words, their own thoughts, their own stories that they wanted to share.
A few of the things written are shared here.

Hopefully more to come!

A long weekend well spent turning the ripe young age of 29.
Gig. Spa day & Afternoon Tea. Performing poetry in a national trust house. Running. Scran. Medieval fair.
Love to all whose celebrated with me.
Doing in some training today. My hope is I can learn something to pass on to some of the local groups we have to assist their mission in gaining a community asset. Lets make use of some of these empty buildings!
Thanks to @stirtoaction for putting this on.
Back in January I had an article published in the @stirtoaction journal and it is now publicly available online and in the latest issue of the magazine.
The article is about mine and my colleagues work at @prestoncoopdevelopment as well as my personal perspective on how the creative industries can help the cooperative sector as well as the national economy 🐝
I do truly believe that the way towards a happier, healthier and more resilient society is by being Cooperative, Community-focused, Cultural, Creative, and Conscious.

The final run of Pressed Town. The last exhibition. For now... All ends are new beginnings.
A shoutout to everyone who has supported, submitted and read out their work. You've been wonderful and dare I say, even part of a little community for a while. Much love to you all.
As well as a shoutout and thank you to SHOP, for providing a space for launch parties and exhibitions throughout the two years. A thank you to Paul (Shout out Paul) from PWD Creative Solutions for smooth lining the printing process and helping me with formatting things. And lastly but certainly not least, a shout out and thank you to Peter Doyle Bookbinder for helping me with, not one but two massive hand bound exhibition books. As well as letting me be a part of that process.
Now, what's next?
