The 2026 WinTech Junior Sculling Head @ Dorney Lake 📍
The event once again brought together a large field of junior athletes from across the UK, racing across J14 to J17 categories in one of the final head races of the winter season. With crews beginning to sharpen form ahead of the summer regattas, the racing offered an early indication of speed across both sculling and octuple events. Throughout the programme, crews racing in WinTech shells featured prominently at the front of the field with 15 medals, 7 of them gold.
In the older junior categories, The Windsor Boys’ School Boat Club continued their strong showing from the Schools’ Head of the River by winning the Open Junior Quadruple Sculls in a WinTech Cobra FLX, ahead of Sir William Borlase’s Grammar School and Marlow Rowing Club. In the Open J17 Quadruple Sculls, George Watson’s College Rowing Club (WinTech Cobra) took the win, with Windsor Boys’ School Boat Club (WinTech International) finishing second and Marlow Rowing Club in third.
With the head season now drawing to a close, attention will turn toward the regatta season, where many of these crews will look to build on their form in the months ahead. We look forward to supporting these crews throughout the season at major and minor events across the calendar!

A full day of racing at Dorney Lake comes to an end with the Oarsport Junior Sculling Head seeing the top sculling centres for junior rowing across the country battle it out for the top spots. It was also amazing to see so many J15 and J14 crews race down the course, hopefully many faces we will see again at regattas this summer, such as National Schools Regatta in May.

This year over 3,000 athletes from almost 600 crews will compete across 14 events comprising of two timed 1800m runs of Dorney Lake in Eton.

Roughly 550 crews down the track later, the Oarsport Junior Sculling Head is complete, with Wycliffe taking the win in the Junior Girls Quads again, following a strong performance earlier this week, and Great Marlow taking the win in Junior Boys Quads for what we believe is the first time in the clubs history.
It was great to see a huge group of J15s and J14s back on the water racing, showing strong results across the board.
