Happy #WorldBookDay !
We are so grateful for all the support and all the artists that trusted us these past two years to make them books! We have exciting projects in the works for 2026/27!!
Please join us at the gallery next Saturday from 4–6 PM for the launch of a new artist book from @zachbruder , published by @junior.publishing on the occasion of "Customary," Bruder's fourth solo exhibition with Magenta Plains. The book reflects on Bruder’s layered and symbolist approach to painting and long-term interest in image collecting, placing appropriative imagery and the artist's observational photography in conversation with the paintings they inspired. This context provides a direct insight into Bruder's process and how his aesthetic interests in vernacular advertising, imperial design, and folkloric totems contribute to these inventive compositions.

Glissando — written by @halfgallery
A memoir in fragments, Glissando drifts through decades of art world lore, as Bill Powers recalls intimate encounters, obscure after-after-parties, and even untold Richard Prince stories. The book is a slow fade through memory and myth — a portrait of the art world drawn in passing glances offering a rare backstage pass to the beautiful chaos of contemporary art.
Available now at www.junior.pub for $20. Copies will also be on hand this weekend at the Available Works Art Book Fair in NYC where Bill will be available to sign your copy! (Friday–Sunday).
Installation view of New York Painting by @joshuaabelow
For this project, Abelow walked through Tribeca with his family, hanging fifteen paintings throughout the neighborhood. The act of walking—fleeting, ephemeral—was the exhibition.
The project draws inspiration from Bas Jan Ader’s In Search of the Miraculous – One Night in Los Angeles (1973), where Ader, photographed by his wife, drifts through the city with a flashlight, chasing something just out of reach.
The exhibition exists solely as documentation. The book—available now at www.junior.pub for $25—not only catalogs the show, but IS the show.
“I have notebooks full of notes on color. Colors get coded and I’ll write them down on the backs of paintings before I execute them.” — @joshuaabelow
This is the reverse side of Painting No. 6 from a 15-part series titled New York Painting. The publication showcases all 15 works as well as installation shots. Available online at www.junior.pub for $25
#maudmadsen painting Guppy features a figure suspended in motion, held tightly within the edges of the canvas. Echoing this visual tension, the book’s design mirrors the composition—placing her work right at the edge of each page, playfully pushing against the boundaries of the book itself.
