”There was a theme last year in many of the exhibitions of testing how much destruction we could handle, both to ourselves and as a greater organized society. Because so much of the year was about destruction that was out of our control, I think many artists began to take ownership, or at least attempt, of their own ritual of deconstruction. New Gary Kuehn work for @friendsfair.art opening tomorrow
Gary Kuehn (b. 1939) is an American sculptor and painter associated with Post-Minimalism and Process Art. Emerging in the 1960s, Kuehn was included in the landmark exhibition When Attitudes Become Form (1969) at Kunsthalle Bern alongside Eva Hesse, Joseph Beuys, Walter De Maria, Bruce Nauman, Richard Serra and more. His work is held in the collections of the Museum of Modern Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art, and many other major institutions.
