Today Evergreen in Your Mind is out, for everyone to listen to, and I feel so GOOD about it! My biggest thanks of course goes to @stianskaaden , my musical brother and producer and musician, thank you for all your time, and for opening all your spaces and equipment to me… and thanks to @malin.c.longva for the loan, and of course for the beautiful photos… Thanks to Jimmy Robertson, who mixed and made everything come together in a magical way And Jeff Lipton for superb mastering It is also thanks to @basinrock that this became a reality, because he liked the songs!! And believed they were good, even when I didn’t think so! In many ways a driving force in the project that I needed to keep it going - and with real passion and love for music… And of course the same goes for @simenmitlid and @maritothilie and @koke.plate , thankyou to my labels for bringing the music to the right places and making all kinds of magic happen… musicians who contributed were @hermanwildhagen on pedal steel (Pearl Cloud Song) @martinmorland on double bass (Lay My Trust) @isaksisland extra guitar on (I’d Like to See It) Emil Petersen ambience on (Another High) I played guitar, vocals, organ and piano @stianskaaden played bass, backing vocals, strings, synths, effects, percussion, ukulele, saw (what did i miss?) Now off to bake a BIG cake 👀

Our album has been out for 3 weeks and 1 day today —- And all the words that people have written about the music!! Put their soul into truly understanding it! I wish everyone the feeling of being SEEN that I’ve experienced these past weeks… With the hope that what the music conveys resonates with others… Because it’s all universal, after all … @stianskaaden @alanoftheenorth @thelineofbestfit @klofmag @klassekampenas

I faced so much resistance along the way in making this album! But one thing is certain, and that is that the music keeps teaching me to accept myself… With all my imperfections and flaws… This is a mixed collection of songs, most of them old and from before the Carvings era, They ended up sitting in a drawer, but it didn’t feel right to leave them there Even though I wasn’t very confident about them!! So I thought, I’ll just record them simply and get it done. It felt completely overwhelming on my own, I was afraid I had used up all my energy after my first two albums So luckily I got the chance to invite Stian in, He was so patient!! Take after take!! In the hallway here in our house, in a borrowed basement, in his apartment, And Studio Arcadia… for every single time we had to go through it again, he was just as present - It was vital!! Always searching for the right “feeling”… If it had been up to me, I would have gone for the first and easiest, but Stian stayed calm Throw it all away, start again, it doesn’t matter 🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠 And it was beautiful that it got to grow over time!! It was always a joy to go into the city and play with Stian, we did a little bit each time! A harmony, or a guitar take. And drank lots of coffee and ate crispbread with banana and salt! This is me and the daffodils just wanted let you know Im releasing my new album this Friday? They already know at @uncut_magazine … there were so many nice words, THANKYOU!

There are two instrumentals on the coming album, and today releasing Pearl Cloud Song - on rare occasions you can stumble upon a really nice guitar tuning, and a song can almost tumble out of its own … in this case DADABD - and I love how the title adds a little shimmer, and the sensation of flying … I play the guitar, @hermanwildhagen played superb pedal steel, @stianskaaden played everything else (percussion bass effects etc etc) and knitted it together so beautifully mix by Jimmy Robertson master by Jeff Lipton photos by my dear brother @marclahab

Its nice to practice patience Today I managed to come down in the low tones That was a little important Snapshots from @stianskaaden and me recording in the hallway, soon to be two years ago… This music will come to you 10th of April and it will be so EXCITING In only two days a new song and it’s with a beat !!
