New Zealand songwriter Nadia Reid released her fourth album Enter Now Brightness in 2025.
āThere is something remarkably peaceful and restorative about Nadia Reidās fourth album; a feat that seems doubly impressive once you learn the singer-songwriter recorded it in the throes of morning sickness, her studio time punctuated by sofa naps and vomiting breaks. The end product shows absolutely no signs of struggle: in fact, this is the kind of unchallenging, beautiful music that seems capable of soothing many a malady.ā - The Guardian
āThere are similarities with Laura Marling ā not least Reidās Short Movie-style vocal skips and catches on Cry On Cue ā but this record isnāt quite as in-the-room about her domestic situation as Marlingās motherhood-inspired Patterns In Repeat. While there are lots of references to light in these songs, Reid rarely deals in sudden flashes of revelation. Her writing is more diffuse, allusive, hinting at the power of love, the damage of the past, the complex tangles of family.ā - MOJO
āPrimarily folk-tinged, Reidās honeyed vocals are a generational gift.ā - UNDER THE RADAR
Thrilled. Thank you - @aotearoamusicawards š¤
Enter Now⦠is sort of a folk album but I am certainly proud to be called a folk artist. I started this whole nonsense in folk clubs and festivals at age 15. It literally saved me and kept me in school. Itās where I learnt about the world, and myself, and human nature. Three chords and the truth. Simple as that.
Nominated for best Folk Artist alongside dreamboats @melparsonsmusic and @lookitsnyoh ā now just wishing I could be there for the party in May. Lots of love to Tom Healy, Sam Taylor, Richie Pickard and Joe McCallum for bringing these songs to life. š
