tartar U.S.A. has wrapped. i am so so grateful for our insanely talented skeleton crew of 7 people that came out to philly/NJ for this wild nine day shoot, our wonderful PAs, our magnificent cast of 32 people that either lived with us or drove from miles away to do this movie, our excellent producers, our equipment provider/manager, Guy, everyone who supported the Seed&Spark, and finally my co-director/writer/DP Caeden Conley, who i’ve been working on Tartar with since March, staying up insane hours writing, doing pre-prod., and soon to be editing - doing this with you has been the one of the most exciting & rewarding experiences ive ever had, and im so grateful for what you brought out of me creatively and just in general. together we’ve all made a feature film! thank you thank you thank you. i am eternally grateful ❤️🗑️📼 #chickenwater #butter #cookie

The Seed&Spark fundraiser for our 90 minute feature-film, Tartar U.S.A., is now live! We’ve worked very hard to bring this project to life over the past few months, but now we’re asking for your support. Tartar U.S.A. is a film about Lake Rhodes, a young man that returns to his estranged family of dumpster-divers after being discharged from the military. One day, he finds a tape in a dumpster that contains his baby photos, sending him on an emotional odyssey through the crumbling town of Tartar. The town within the film is a fictionalized, surrealist depiction of America’s forgotten rustbelt communities, and the film will explore the intersections of abuse and poverty, telling a story about familial trauma, whilst tackling the grander exploitation of the lower-class.
