That’s a wrap on Tartar!
What a fever dream of a journey this has been. From starting in March to working countless hours writing, refining, and planning pre-production with my co-writer and co-director, Juno Sapp — this experience has been nothing short of a creative dream come true. I have no doubt that it wouldn’t have been possible without our spectacular team of producers, our wonderful PAs, Caden and Cordi, our seven-person skeleton crew who committed to eight consecutive twelve-hour days of hard work, the thirty-two actors who traveled far and wide to be a part of this, and Guy, who provided us with top-tier equipment throughout the shoot. To everyone who donated, assisted along the way, wished us luck, or gave us thoughtful notes before the shoot — thank you. We are forever grateful! As they previously did in their post, I would like to take this last half of my post to thank, Juno Sapp, who has been alongside me for this whole experience, sacrificing sleep, summer break, and any form of relaxation to make this project happen. From March to now, the production of this film has been one of the most rewarding projects of my life, and I’m truly honored to have collaborated on it with you! We still have a lot to do, but we shot our first fucking feature! That’s insane to think about. Looking back at our plans, even a day before we came up with this concept, it would have seemed far from realistic reach. Whether it was watching Gummo in the Roxy or eating WaWa every night for dinner, this trip has been worth it! I am forever thankful to you! This is only just the beginning, much more to come in the future!
