Introducing our first custom typeface for the city of Seoul! 🇰🇷 I’m very happy to share that, in collaboration with South Korean type foundry Tlab, we developed a bilingual type system that brings together Hangul and Latin in a unified design. Designed to support Seoul’s vast public infrastructure, from subway maps to street signage, this typeface was built for one of the world’s busiest cities. With over two billion people using its transport system every year, our goal was to create a typeface that is not only enduring, but also clear, simple, and highly legible. 🔗 Full story on our website. 🔵🔴⚫️⚪️🟠🟢🟣

Introducing JT Percy 💎🌟 The development of the typeface began with the study of stone-carved letterforms, archival research and visits to cemeteries. Early inspiration came from the inscriptions at the Royal Institute of British Architects, crafted by Percy John Delf Smith, a student and later assistant of the legendary Edward Johnston. The flowing swashes, inscriptional quality, and expressive lowercase r stood out and inspired the early sketches of the typeface. The uppercase propotrtions are rooted in second-century incised inscriptions, while the lowercase reflects nuances from Renaissance-era letterforms, creating a balance between classical structure and humanist detail. One of the standout features of JT Percy is its extensive range of ligatures and swashes. Definitely the most complex project in Jt library, with over 6,000 characters per weight. Designed to give you the freedom to experiment, and a lot of possibilities for expressive typographic compositions. We can’t wait to see how designers will use them! 🌟🌟 JT Percy also comes with full Cyrillic support. This part of the project was developed in close collaboration with @pavel.pvlv , and further refined with insights from our talented Ukrainian intern at the time, @levtype . Through ongoing dialogue, we ensured that the Cyrillic character set resonates with the spirit of the Latin forms, both in tone and typographic voice. @nika.langosz worked her magic on expanding swashes and kerning, while @rafalbuchner wrapped up the engineering side. 🙇🏻‍♂️🙇🏻‍♂️ JT Percy is designed with expansion in mind, and we plan to release serif version and additional weights in the near future. 🌐 Campaign by an amazing duo: @jon.koerner and @pumakuma 🍥 Ps: We updated our Trial font license. Jt custom font Seoul Alrim 🔡🇰🇷 I first came across LetterSeed in 2016, during my first year of my bachelor’s studies in the Netherlands. A friend brought it for me as a gift from Seoul, and I remember, being really impressed by the variety and quality of design in South Korean. I'm very grateful for @yooodowon and @parkyuseon_ from @koreansocietyoftypography for invitation! With over two billion people using its transport system every year, our goal was to create a typeface that is not only enduring, but also clear, simple, and highly legible. JT Comet just dropped! 🔥 JT Comet is a warm, chunky typeface suited for a wide range of branding applications. What makes this project particularly important to us is its collaborative nature. While typefaces are often designed by a single designer, JT Comet was developed collectively by Edward Dżułaj, Nika Langosz, and Lev Rastvortsev. During the design process, we aimed to capture the charm of lettering found on shop windows, ice cream trucks, and various food packaging. This project draws inspiration from the spirit of Heinz Hoffmann’s Herold Reclameschrift, designed for H. Berthold, however, with JT Comet, we were not interested in creating a revival. Instead, our goal was to reinterpret and reshape these influences into something new. JT Comet has soft curves, playful energy, friendly tone, and a warm character. JT Cyrax Slab is the superfamily rooted in nostalgia for late ’80s and early ’90s games, films, and tech logos. Its squarish letterforms draw inspiration from the fonts often seen in classic sci-fi movies. The typeface features numerous technical refinements to ensure excellent performance both on screen and in print, at small as well as large sizes. Design by our talented friend @rafalbuchner
