Book 3 takes place in the Caribbean, so I “had” to spend a few days out there for research purposes. 😂 @amandaleipold1 graciously agreed to accompany me. Our time in St. Thomas and St. John was so magical I don’t think there are words to capture it, but suffice it to say we will be returning ☀️

Current exhibit at the @museumofsex on sexuality in historic cults and communes in the US. I would’ve liked a little more discussion of the psychological and power dynamics aspects but overall found the exhibit fascinating and learned a lot. I also just love this museum - with your ticket you get into their permanent exhibit (which has some stuff, wow) and Superfunland, a playful and sexy carnival with games 🎟️🎪

The paperbacks are coming! Keep an eye out next Tuesday 3/24. 2025 was a rough year for authors (and pretty much everyone) so if you’d like to support THE LAST SESSION: 📚 Pre-order on @bookshop_org or pick up a copy at your local bookstore next week 📚 Request that your local library stock it 📚 Recommend to friends you think might like it 📚 Post a Goodreads or Amazon review (we’re still below a 3 on GR 😂) Thank you so much to those who have connected with and championed the book! I feel very lucky to be able to put out books that question the current systems and disturbing times we find ourselves in

Life/book updates: •I’ve been single for the last few months and have been loving @noonetellsyouthis and @mirandajuly ’s brilliant substacks, which explore non-traditional life pathways for women, especially those over 40. Have you read them? What are your thoughts? •I turned in Book 3 to my editor last week! 🥳 This one was particularly difficult to write, both because of the content and because of the continuous dumpster fire of our unhinged pedoph!le in chief’s first year. But I’m happy with how it turned out. It’s always wild to start with the seed of an idea, and then, months or years later, see it exist in written form •Speaking of the dumpster fire, I just want to say that if your mental health has been suffering, please know that is absolutely normal. It’s been rough over here too, but some things I’ve found helpful for myself are acts of protest/advocacy (to combat helplessness), working on nervous system regulation (to combat fear), and looking to the wisdom of those who have been through times like this (to combat inexperience). I’m grateful to every person on this planet who is pushing back against the rising tide of fascism in ways big and small.
