Julius Ceaser is closed 😢! This was my last show as a graduate student at Wayne State. What an amazing experience this was working with a talented and hard-working team! I've had a lot of compliments on the set design for the show but it truly would not have looked as good without the entire team. Their beautiful designs, in collaboration with the hard work of our costume department, help bring these iconic characters to life in the Hilberry Gateway in Detroit and transport the audience into August Wilson's vivid portrayal of life in the Hill District of Pittsburgh. About the Designer: Joel Shinavier is a third-year costume design MFA student. They received their BFA at Northern Michigan University and have worked professionally with the North Coast Theater Festival, Saugatuck Center for the Arts, and The Phoenix Theatre Company. Past works at Wayne include the 96th Annual Spring Dance Concert ('24), "Drowning Ophelia," "Into the Woods," and Dance Workshop ('25). 🎟️ Don't miss this epic performance of August Wilson's legendary work—"Seven Guitars" closes Nov. 9. This month I finished up my summer with @saugatuck_arts with a beautiful production of Waitress (costume designer @emmstein13 ) and jumped back into my final year of grad school at @theatreanddanceatwayne . Looking forward to another good year!
