Wibbly Wobbly, Timey Wimey ❤️❤️+🟦 . Happy #doctorwhoday 2024! A while ago I created my own interpretation of the Doctor Who title sequence, a somewhat mix of the classic era with modern visuals. I wanted to make something a bit more abstract than the norm! It’s animated entirely within after effects, with a tardis model imported from blender that I spent wayyy too long figuring out how to make (I ended up not even texturing it, screw that). The logo is also custom, an ode to the 2005-2009 design from the show! I hope that you all like this one! Coastal Creations - Mobile Pottery Studio 🎨☀️🌊 . Another fun wee logo project! Coastal Creations came to me needing a basic logo and business card design. I wanted to push the boat out (aha) and make something fun and unique to match their personality! ☀️ Coastal Creations are a mobile pottery painting studio, holding classes for anyone of any ability. The brand mark combines a sailboat, sea shell, the sun, waves, and paint together into one single icon 🛥️ representing the fact they can travel anywhere, but are also based in Cove Bay, Aberdeen (hence the coastal vibes 🏝️) I had a LOT of fun with this one! Mmmmmmm… douuughhhnuts 🥵🍩☁️ . Helloo! (Sorry for the short posting hiatus). I’ve been wanting to start sharing a few recent commissioned projects, and first up it’s Totally Dough! In the growing popularity of doughnuts in Aberdeen, Totally Dough makes their mark on the city with totally hand made fluffy delights! I wanted to capture the essence of their product within the logo, as well as show very recognisable iconography. I ended up with a cloud shown in the negative space of a doughnut, furthering the concept of the doughnuts being “fluffy clouds of heaven” ✨ (the wee twinkle within the hole adds to the heavenly idea)! ☁️ From there, flyers, loyalty cards, packaging, illustrations, and more were built from the ground up, encompassing the brand iconography ✨ This was SUCH a fun project to be a part of. Obligatory end of year post (belated ✨) 2025 marked the 2nd year of me being a qualified adult (post uni) and it’s safe to say I’ve continued to ADORE working in the creative space. The community of designers that I’ve become a part of has helped me grow professionally and personally, and has always motivated me to push boundaries and create the best work possible. Love you all! 2025 has however marked a turning point for me. For years I have been treating my evenings and weekends as time to push my freelance work and grow even more as a graphic designer, but the burnout can be WILD. So, I started to appreciate the importance of winding down a bit to enjoy other things that life has to offer (adventures, seeing pals, time with the other half, other creative stuff, and a crap load of Minecraft and Battlefield 6 hehe). I still absolutely love it when I have the opportunity to work with incredible clients, and I’ll always appreciate new and exciting projects coming my way!! But, my 2026 will be the year of quality over quantity, and allowing myself to breathe in between✨ To any creative poeple out there, make sure to always time for the little things in life 🫶 Here’s to 2026! Mind, how you go? ✨👧 ✏️ . Wow, what a wonderful wee project this has been! I think as a designer it’s a dream to have something you design printed on a book cover. So here it is! The incredible poetry collection “Mind, How You Go” written by @a_elmitchell & @conzeeboo is out NOW! Go buy it! Absolutely fantastic work 👏 🫶 The abstract cover art was inspired by the feeling of uncertainty, deep layers of intertwining thought, contrasting themes of light and dark, and the characters portrayed within the text. I also used to love to work in this paper cut style, so it’s been nice to do it again! The logo is inspired by the cover art, with the actual text weaving through eachother (thanks illustrator for adding this feature hehehe) Alternate cover on the second slide so I could show off the full illustration, but I felt it worked best bleeding off the side ✨👀 Anyway! 2024 - what a year! ✨🥳💙 . Posting the obligatory yearly wrap-up a lil early as I’ll likely be preoccupied drinking in a few days.. ✨ This year has been FANTASTIC! New people, new projects, new horizons! Old goals accomplished and new goals set, achievements made and lessons learned. The ups celebrated and the downs made me stronger. Without trying to be too flowery and poetic, I’ve genuinely had a great year professionally and personally 🫶 I’d like to thank ALL of the people I’ve collaborated with this year, as you all have kept my spark for design sparking! I love working on new and exciting creative briefs as it keeps things fresh. Highlight of the year is definitely being part of a logo design competition with @willpat - HUUUGELY fun!
