A modular grid might look restrictive at first…but that’s exactly what makes it powerful. Within its boundaries, creativity thrives, unlocking endless possibilities for layout and composition. The grid isn’t a cage. It’s a guide #design #graphicdesign #branding #grid #thegrid #logo #poster #layout #designinspiration

Visual hierarchy is simpler than people think. In the west, we read left to right, top to bottom, so a good grid just works with that, organising your information into clear groups and guiding the eye exactly where you want it to go. And here's the bit I love about grids: within one grid system, you've got thousands of possible layouts. The restriction is what gives you the freedom. Sounds backwards, but it's true. The grid is liberating. Bring in scale and contrast, and the hierarchy almost does itself. #design #typography #gridsystem #graphicdesign #layoutdesign

Right before going on stage at Creative South, Will Paterson hit one million YouTube subscribers. A million. That’s such a stupidly huge number when you stop and think about it. Years of consistently showing up, making videos, teaching and sharing work slowly built into something that probably once felt completely impossible.

Here's a really easy way to add a bit of movement to your logos, for your site, client decks, anywhere really. I've been using these shaders in @framer recently and they've completely changed how my presentations land. Takes what's normally a static logo and gives it a bit of life. If you fancy building your site in Framer, drop "Pro" in the comments and I'll send you 1 month of Framer Pro on me 👇 #ad #logo #shaders #framer #graphicdesign

Imposter syndrome came up a lot in the conversation with Will Paterson. Especially that horrible feeling when you present work and think, if they hate this, my entire day is ruined. But what stood out was Will realizing clients weren’t necessarily hiring him because he was “the best designer alive.” Sometimes he was just the right fit for them as a person, and honestly that’s probably more important than designers want to admit.

At @creativesouthga , Will Paterson and the guys spoke about that weird post-conference buzz you get after design events. You leave feeling ridiculously inspired. Like you want to go home and change everything immediately. Then reality kicks back in by Monday morning and half the ideas disappear. That’s why it’s so important to keep it simple afterwards. Small goals. Notes. A couple of hours every few weeks to actually implement something before the motivation fades.

I love showing the construction behind my logos and fonts, but placing every point and handle manually takes forever. This is where @affinity and AI click for me. With the new update, I asked @claudeai to build me a reusable Bezier Visualiser script, and it just… did it. That's wild. AI isn't generating the work, it's handling the repetitive boring stuff so I can focus on the actual design. I've also got it making an Artboard Arranger, so a couple of clicks and all my messy artboards are tidy. Full video on every new Affinity update is up. Comment "vid" and I'll send you the link! #design #affinitypartner #affinity #bezier #branding

I’m so thankful for my job. I get to create, nerd out on typography and branding, work with incredible people and brands from around the world, and hopefully inspire a few creatives along the way. I don’t take any of it for granted. A few weeks ago I spoke at Creative South 2026 about my journey as a brand designer - my message was to be the favourite, not the best - and having the courage to post your work, your unique perspective and show your personality even if you feel like other people’s work is ‘better’ - it was awesome meeting so many of you there and having great conversations! Just as I was going up to do my talk, I hit 1 Million subscribers on @youtube ! The timing couldn’t be better. After CS I flew to California with @affinity for @canva Create, where I got to run a workshop on vector and pixel workflows, it was a fun day! It’s my birthday today - I turn 32. Best job in the world, best people around me. Thank you all for following and supporting my creative journey. ❤️ #graphicdesign #typography #branding #branddesign

Animating content on your @framer site is easier than you think. Just select an element, head to Effects, and play around with the settings until it feels right. That’s it. No code, no extra software, just Framer. Comment “PRO” and I’ll send you 1 month of Framer Pro for free. #framer #webdesign #design #graphicdesign #animation

For World Creativity and Innovation Day I'm giving you a look into my lettering process whilst traveling. @apple have challenged me to share a part of my creative process to celebrate, so here is a behind-the-scenes look at my workflow. I'm stoked to be getting this lettering piece refined and vectorised when I'm back home! #MadeoniPad @helloapple #lettering #typography
