We’re absolutely delighted to announce Jason Yarde will perform his Blue Box Diaries project in support of Yazz Ahmed at Crown House - nearly 50% of tickets have sold, please don’t miss out on this wonderful evening! Major Announcement: Dark Circles is very proud to present a unique solo performance from Yazz Ahmed at Crown House, St Leonards. Tickets are now live - link in bio This is the first in a series of Dark Circles shows in the intimate setting of the historic Georgian seafront landmark Crown House, but what a fantastic way to start! Dubbed the ‘high priestess of psychedelic Arabic jazz’, Yazz Ahmed has been hailed as one of the most influential trumpet players of her generation. An Ivor Novello award-winning composer, she makes sweeping epics that are rich with storytelling, depicting evocative ancient worlds and mythological muses. A Paradise In The Hold, her latest album, marks a significant evolution in Ahmed’s musical journey, blending her British-Bahraini heritage with contemporary jazz. The album is a tribute to the sorrowful songs of Bahrain’s pearl divers, the strength of Arab women, and the celebratory rhythms of women’s traditional drumming circles, while also telling the story of Yazz’s own decade-long voyage of self-discovery. Critics have praised the album for its fiery blend of instinct and improvisation: “Yazz Ahmed has created her most exquisite sonic world yet on A Paradise In The Hold, 10 tracks of magnetic, boundary-transcending jazz” – UNCUT. Doors Open at 7:30pm Performances from 8pm Dark Circles at Crown House, St Leonards on Sea, TN38 0BE @yazzahmedmusic @joyandears

HOW TO END AN IMPROV: the secret that no one knew that anyone has been hiding has been masterfully demystified by the inimitable Jason Yarde The first of two Cotswolds trios, here with Jason (@joyandears ) and Camilla George (@cammyg1 ) The last morning, on our way out the door with everything packed and rolling out, after the whole week spent nudging Jason to play, we finally had the chance. Camilla was across from me eating breakfast, I asked if she had a horn - couldn’t pass up this epic trio opportunity. Just the vibraphone was left and we managed to snag these golden moments of music-making… it was the perfect morning & end to that magical week. Massive pleasure to play with you both!

Here’s a fresh take on an #80s classic, remixed by jazz saxophonist Joy and Ears aka Jason Yarde. His cover of “Dream All Night” is a tight reworking of Pressure Point’s “Dreaming”, originally released in the late '80s. Blending Pressure Point’s tight, groovy instrumentals with the soulful voice of P.P. Arnold, the legend behind hits like “The First Cut is the Deepest” and “Angel of the Morning”, this track is a slice of ‘90s soulful #JazzFunk butter, out now on Blow It Hard! 🔥🎷 What’s your favourite P.P. Arnold track of all time? Let us know below! #Blowithard #PressurePoint #PPArnold #DreamAllNight #JasonYarde #TheFirstCutIsTheDeepest #AngelOfTheMorning #90sMusic #SoulGrooves
