INTRODUCING JOUSEY
Philippines-born, Aotearoa-based, Jousey is redefining what the South Island club scene sounds like.
Her sets are high-energy and genre-fluid, weaving together uptempo bass-driven rhythms, euphoric textures, and percussive grooves. Informed by her Filipino heritage and background as a multi-instrumentalist, Jousey bridges Southeast Asian rhythms, UK bass, and underground electronic textures into something distinctly her own.
She’s performed at Rolling Meadows, Baseline, Mardi Gras, and Rhythm & Vines, with a production catalog that showcases her bold vision. Tracks like “Dai Baku” on Redline Records, “Trompeta Fiesta,” and her recent “Eski Bounce” on Community Service Records - which fuses grime with UK Funky - prove she’s one of Aotearoa’s most exciting underground artists.
Beyond the decks, Jousey is co-founder of Nörty Club, a femme-led collective she runs alongside CANDI and Evo, amplifying femme, POC, and queer artists across Aotearoa’s electronic music scene. Her work pushes toward a future-facing club identity, one that expands representation and sound in New Zealand’s dance music landscape.
