Ten photos from Iceland 🇮🇸 Here are a few of my favorite captures from our trip around the Ring Road. All captured with a Ricoh GR3, Falljökull glacier captured on iPhone. 1 - Glymur waterfall, located deeper inland with three levels of waterfall rolling through the canyon. 2 - Boats in Arnarstapi Harbor, some 30 boats tucked close together with multicolored bright roofs. 3 - Black sand beaches near Hvítserkur, Brooke leans down to feel the cold water temperature. 4 - A lone horse on the road to Akureyri grazing on abundant hay fields. 5 - Driving along route 85 Norðausturvegur as gold light pokes through the clouds across the hillside, illuminating red-roofed barns in the distance. 6 - Dimmuborgir Guesthouse is a wooden guest building with an ash-covered car out front. If you are a metalhead you know why I had to stay here when I saw the name on a map. 😆🤘 7 - A wall of twisted basalt columns in Stuðlagil Canyon along the flowing river almost matching the river’s flow. 8 - A clear piece of glacial ice sits in the shoreside waves and black sand at Breiðamerkursandur (Diamond Beach). 9 - Black ash meets blue waters on the rainy Falljökull glacier icefall accessed via crampons and axe. 10 - Deep glacial-cut cliffs and river formations from the hike beyond Skógafoss. #grsnaps #iceland

We wanted to take a moment to share a note of remembrance for Brian McGillicuddy, who was not only a vibrant member of the entire northeast climbing community, but a core member of the ParaCliffHangers family. If you’re a Gunks climber, on any given weekend you’d often see Brian in his signature white painter jeans, clad in his trademark rack, climbing with Adam Payne ( @spiff188 ), roped up, stepping out of his wheelchair to begin a climb along the carriage road. He and Adam shared a friendship like no other, driving hours to and from the Gunks just to climb together. They embodied the core mission of paraclimbers and able-bodied climbers enjoying time outdoors together, on their own terms. While Brian was often climbing with Adam, he joined so many of our outdoor days, sharing the stoke with everyone, encouraging newcomers, always keeping a smile on his face no matter the conditions. And he offered something rare yet crucial to any community: unconditional love. If you met Brian for the first time, you’d have no idea of his climbing achievements, his vast experience, his first ascents, that you were being belayed by an absolute legend. His character was all light, all love. He was just so happy to be out there with everyone. Brian will stay with me, and so many members of our community, forever. His character is something I will personally aspire to, and wish for anyone to experience. You will be missed, Brian. You are with us forever. ♥️ -Words and photos by @joshbrede

Two Nears views: one atop Disneyland with @adaptive.matthew from last fall and the next on top of YYYY with @seandanielsband from this spring. The first from close to the beginning of the Nears and the second at the end. Kinda neat how the landscape changes so drastically between seasons, I noticed this similarity while randomly going through past photos. These are some good dudes and I always appreciate climbing with them. #tradisrad

Sharing work is always fun, but this past year, I’ve realized it’s more about “doing the thing” for me. It’s about making shoots happen with people I love being around and working towards a common goal. I haven’t shared work in a while—whoops! This one came out last week, and it was super fun and colorful. We got to be a part of a special project unveiling the official statue of Mary Golda Ross for the First Americans Museum in Oklahoma City. Everything Mary Golda Ross stands for in her work, her mission, and her impact on the STEM community is so crucial. Very happy we got to help commemorate her story and her life in a big way!
