Over 1 million people have been forcibly displaced from their homes in Lebanon by Israel, that’s 20% of Lebanon’s population - in the last 3 weeks alone. Over 1,000 people have now been killed.
Please write to your MPs. LINK IN BIO.
Israel has begun a ground offensive in the south, has continued with its destruction of villages, homes, and bridges south of the Litani River to ethnically cleanse Lebanese from their homes and communities, and occupying and isolating the south, disconnecting it from the rest of the country.
The Gaza playbook used throughout its genocide against Palestinians is becoming ever more apparent in Lebanon. Israeli ministers themselves have already made clear their genocidal declarations of intent, with Finance Minister Smotrich saying they will do to Dahyieh (Beirut’s southern suburbs) as they did to Khan Younis in Gaza. The targeted killings of healthcare workers (42 have now been killed, and119 injured) and attacks on 128 medical facilities, the destruction of vital civilian water, sanitation, electricity and transport infrastructure, and the unlawful use of white phosphorous in residential areas, all adds to a bleak and terrifying trajectory. We’ve seen it before. And yet as Israeli impunity rages off the charts, the UK government response remains weak. A bare minimum demand would be for the UK government to call for a ceasefire, one that is actually adhered to, and demanded a full withdrawal of all Israeli forces from Lebanon, allowing people to return to their homes.
As communities across Lebanon face destruction, displacement and ethnic cleansing, are faced with such genocidal threats, we urge you to contact your MPs and parliamentary representatives (even though this may never seem enough) to demand the Government takes action.
Condemnation has never been enough, and there needs to be serious consequences for such grave violations, including further sanctions.
Please continue to support those aiding, helping and assisting those displaced on the ground in Lebanon.

Spoke with @britainowespalestine@newscord_org about UK complicity in the historic and continued erasure of Palestinians.
The Balfour Declaration (one that most of us educated in the UK were never taught about), is a document of historic shame.
British complicity in the erasure of Palestinians and Palestine hasn’t just happened in the last couple of years as Israel is committing g€nocide, apartheid and ethnic cleansing, it’s historic. An apology is the bare minimum. At least those in the UK and elsewhere are beginning to see how deep this goes.

The past 100 days of a Labour Government have witnessed political complacency and complicity, as Palestinians and Lebanese have seen carnage, devastation and death - and in Gaza right now, erasure, extermination and genocide.
Me for @middleeasteye . Link in bio.
Israel is still rewarded the status of an ally, its “right to self-defence” still lauded despite the genocide, an interpretation of “self-defence” that is a cruel fallacy, synonymous with atrocity.
“Sadly, the dehumanisation of Palestinians and Lebanese underlines the lack of action to end this genocide - one that has been exacerbated by the anti-Palestinian and anti-Arab racism indulged by the British political class.
The experiences of those suffering under apartheid, occupation and genocidal violence - all live-streamed to the world - continue to be denied.
We are crying out for principled and compassionate political leadership that stands in solidarity with those enduring the genocide, and seeks to end it with urgency, rather than standing unashamedly with those perpetrating it.”

“I must become a menace to my enemies”.
London marking 78 years of Nakba, an ongoing catastrophe of genocide, ethnic cleansing, erasure of Palestinians, across Palestine and beyond. Of apartheid and brutal occupation. As our government and governments still back those responsible. They arm them. They make allowances for them. They let them sell their avocadoes in our supermarkets, and the violent perpetrators of the genocide come to this country and shop in said supermarkets. They let them still remain part of FIFA, UEFA, Eurovision, a world stage with a camp red carpet rather than a shun. The homonationalist screeching in Vienna, as criminal as it is unbearable. Our governments that have allowed the far right to thrive, fight, and destroy. Immigration policies from said governments born out of the same hatred, perhaps a bit more sterilised, but creating the same hostile environment. A far right that shares the values of genocide, ethnic cleansing, apartheid and erasure of Palestinians.
These things are interlinked, and anyone who tells you otherwise is lying.
Become a menace to your enemies. Yesterday. Today. Tomorrow.

An actual pleasure to vote for @hackneygreenparty , greenpartyantoinette, @zoegarbettgreen , @greenpartyzack@londongreenparty today in Lea Bridge in Hackney.
Hackney and the country deserve much better. For me, this is the only option.
Oh and Hackney Council continues to refuse to divest the £106 million in pension funds it currently invests in companies complicit in the genocide against Palestinians. The only time @hackneylabour ever visited me, my current councillor had nothing to say. Dodged the question. Pretty disgusting really.
