Film photographs from a roadtrip to The Isle of Skye.
The scenery up in the in Scotlandās Highlands is outrageous. Iād had an urge to get some of that Scottish air into my nostrils for a while, and take the Hasselblad up there. Shout out
@vintage_camera_hut for the sending me some expired Japanese film stock from the 80s, which felt like it could lend itself perfectly to the other worldly landscapes.
For those that donāt know, similar to food, photography film stock has a sell-by-date. But the chemical degradation that occurs to a roll of film over the years, in this case decades, can make your images look mad interesting.
Cautionary note, expired film can become completely destroyed and you run the risk of returning from your holiday with no photographs. I had two rolls fail. Itās an experiment.
Stopping the car every twenty minutes, much to the delight of my partner
@naomirumer , the scenes were unbelievable and frequent. I ran out of film on the second day, and there were no camera shops (or chains) on the island. Did find a fine chap and local photographer
@srfilmphotography on Instagram, though, who came to the rescue with some black and white Ilford. An angel of a man.
Canāt recommend a visit to this part of the world enough. Waterfalls, hikes, harbors, Guinness. Thank you
@comethroughlab once again developing the photos, the best in the business.
