Also wanted to note: this jam here features an amazing new instrument I’m excitedly diving into, the @oddmentaudio ODD-1. Didn’t get any deal or endorsement thing with this one, paid full freight, just singing its praises bc it rules. I’ve only scratched the surface but I’m pretty sure it’s the granular playground of my dreams. I popped a @maryoverthere track in to play around with — of course, nothing compares to real life Mary (which you can experience tomorrow! At The Airliner! 8pm!) but looooord is it fun to play with the soundscapes this beautiful instrument can create.

VERY excited about the following: I’m launching a monthly live series at the supersexy (and great-sounding) @airlinerbar . The last Tuesday of every month will be Natchez Casuals: different players each show, no cover, two sets, good times, sweet hangs, and excursions into the unknown. Launching Tuesday 3/31 with a power trio comprised of me, @dharringtone , and @mmmmjjjjjjjj . We’re gonna rip, come on through, hope to become a regular part of your rotation.

ALL THAT WE LOVE is in select theaters and On Demand today. It was a complete joy to make the music for @yentanpics ‘s deeply personal, hilarious, and moving film. Huge thanks to the truly special musicians — #AnthonyLaMarca on guitars and pedal steel, @steelwitch__ on pedal steel, and @gooddannys providing his usual mixing wizardry — who helped bring this score to life. @margaret_cho@jessetyler@kennethchoi_@aliceheyalice@atsukocomedy@devbostick & @missipyle are all phenomenal in this, and anyone who has ever loved and lost a pet will connect with Yen’s beautiful work. There’s one scene that still, gawdammit, gets me choked up even after seeing it like 200,000 times. #AllThatWeLoveMovie

Absolute all-timer in CDMX, feat. the usual incredible bootleg CDMX merch [scroll]. The best ending to the best tour with the best bands/crews/people @thenational & @ilovelucius (missed you this one, Lucius folks). Heading off the road for a good long while and I’m more than ready to be planted for a bit, but I’m gonna miss these special moments of communion.
Another epic run with these epic people. I’m so incredibly lucky & blessed to get to be a part of such a hard-working, creative, adventurous, and caring group of folks. Psyched to get home to family + (some) sleep, but so grateful I get to travel & make music with this team.
L.A. folks: Some of the most fun I’ve ever had was writing the music for (and getting to perform in) THERE THERE, a wonderful film by the incomparable Andrew Bujalski. And in a fun twist, the film has been transformed into an art installation that will be up at @rusha_co for the next month. It’s a really cool re-imagining of the film, highly encourage you to check it out if you’re so inclined. And the film is still streaming on Hulu, for those not in L.A. or who simply prefer the normie way of doing things.
