On January 6th (the funniest day of the year) I will be starting a new weekly comedy/variety show at @scribble.community in HIGHLAND PARK. All ticket sales will go to helping SCRIBBLE provide mental health services for the community. ALSO, this show will be ALL AGES, which warms my little punk rock heart. KEEP IN MIND, this doesn’t mean the show will be family friendly. I just think giving younger people an opportunity to see live comedy is important and could hopefully inspire the next generation’s Soupy Sales (or something). Furthermore, the show won’t always be the same. One week could have stand up, the next week it could be all weird comedy/music acts, sketch, a talk show, or even a monthly LIVE MOVIE RIFFING night (a la MST3k). It’ll be whatever it’ll be. But I can at least guarantee that it’ll be somewhat entertaining. Anyway, Feel free to tag comedians you want to see on this show in the comments below, maybe that’ll publicly shame them and force them to do it. Let’s have some fun.

You can't fake chemistry like this. This is what doing a comedy show together for years looks like.
For those of you who don't know, Jonah and Kumail used to run the greatest comedy show in LA in the basement of a comic book shop. It was called The Meltdown (thus our cheeky reference) and it was very much the epicenter of the sort of comedy that makes me laugh.
Anyway, it was incredibly gracious for Kumail to join our crazy little movie, and I just want everyone in the world to see it because it's so damn funny.

The last show was truly something special, every comic killed and then I had the entire crowd stack their seats and move them to the side so we could all enjoy an acoustic set by local heroes @joycemanorofficial ! (W/ guitars provided by friend of the show @jeffrosenstock ) They had a lot of fans show up to watch them but they were a great comedy audience as well. We had the spoon man showing me he could SHAKA, Georgia Hardstark talking about the Los Feliz MURDER HOUSE, I told David Farrier all about how BAT BOY just died, Lisa Hanawalt talked about what the retina sees in certain positions, and we got to behold the true power of @SUMPPmusic who continually ripped the roof off Scribble every time he played. Next weeks show is in the second slide and we’re BACK TO STAND UP, it’s got @mintmilana@anylaurie16 , @karlhess , @kelcripe , @brookswheelan and a SUPER SECRET MUSICAL GUEST THAT WILL BE ANNOUNCED AFTER TOMORROW. This crowds for this show are great, the energy is infectious, and shout outs to all my friends who help me with chairs!
Next weeks SCRATCH PAD is gonna be a little change in format! I thought to myself, I have such funny friends that aren’t necessarily stand up comics. So, what better way to showcase them than to bring them in for a little chat! Think of it as a podcast that won’t be recorded for posterity. Which is odd because most of the guests have podcasts like @myfavoritemurder , @doughboyspodcast , and @flightlessbirdpod ! I’m looking forward to this, it’ll be fun. Also, the musical guest is a bonkers musician in town by the name of SUMPP. Come to the show and prove to me that you like all types of comedy shows. PROVE TO MEEEEEEE!!!! Tickets on sale now! Tickets for next week “Jonah-less” scratch pad are now for sale! It’s a bummer I have to miss it because this is SUCH a good line up.
