honestly for so long I didn’t share this part of myself, I didn’t share my voice (spoken or sung)
my heart has been incredibly heavy recently
a part of me wanted to shrink back to that place of smallness
but instead, i’m choosing to fully own this expression and share it
I still feel vulnerable but also filled with excitement
music is such a gift
and playing with this group of friends/family is a dream
what a privilege it is to share art in this way
not a day goes by where i’m not in touch with the utter gratitude I have for being able to play, perform and create like this

what an absolute dream that was
little clip of ‘Water Keep Me’ live from our headline gig at The Barrel House, Totnes
feel in the glow and awe of music
an unmistakable excitment has been moved within me
I can’t wait to play more live shows like this
i’ve dreamed of playing this venue since I was a teen
beyond grateful for all the humans who came to watch, listen and move their limbs

and to the most talented beans who joined me on this musical venture and transformed this vision

what a journey to get this song to where it is now
i feel like so much happens behind the scenes of releasing music that not many people get to witness
this started as a very sad song
written as tears fell at the piano
as i was processing
later i knew i wanted to bring that emotive vulnerability and blend it with my love for electronic / pop
i showed this song to the band during a jam
and went on to produce a HYPER electronic demo
next time we met we re envisioned it in a toned down way
everyone adding their own flavour
we recorded it the next day and
it was sitting in my logic folder for a long time before i thought to work on it again
it’s my favourite song yet
thank you to these musical humans who made this song
