SOM GALLERY is delighted to announce “How Soon is Meaning?”, a duo show by Sawako Nasu and Johnny Mae Hauser on view from January 30 to February 22.
Working across the distinct media of painting and photography, the exhibition brings together two artistic practices that quietly resonate through a shared attitude: rather than seeking to assert images, both artists maintain a measured distance from their fixation and recuperation. Through this dialogue, the exhibition considers how art may still take form today—at a moment when human-centered thinking has reached its extreme, in the midst of the Anthropocene.
SOM GALLERY は、1月30日(金)から2月22日(日)まで、那須佐和子とジョニー・メイ・ハウザーによる
二人展「How Soon is Meaning?」

While the girls are still asleep in Miami, I am nervously sainting for @untitledartfairs to open tomorrow.
Super excited to show together with @harleyweir@homecoming.gallery so far from home. 💫
We’re excited to be heading to Miami for @untitledartfairs , presenting a selection of new and recent works by Harley Weir and Johnny Mae Hauser.
Harley Weir’s practice subverts expectation. Combining analogue and digital methods with darkroom experimentation, her photographs transform colour, material and composition into images that challenge and expand notions of womanhood.
Johnny Mae Hauser’s Bildnis series explores the evolution of emotional memory. Her compositions create a subtle dialogue between inner life and viewer, with each work printed once as a unique object.
