In this mural, I was thinking about that brief moment just before or after sunlight, when color feels soft, suspended, and almost weightless. I wanted the wall to feel less solid as if light were passing through it instead of just sitting at the surface. The composition comes from observing how light behaves, how it bends and shifts as it moves through things like water or glass. Each section works a bit like a small lens, splitting or refracting.
There’s also an underlying structure inspired by patterns you find in nature, similar to Voronoi diagrams, where separate parts come together to form a whole. I think of these parts as individual elements coming together, like neighboring islands or people in a city, each with its own energy, but connected.
This work explores the idea that color is not static, but continuously shifts depending on light, movement, and how it is perceived.

A new work recently completed for friends at @depot.303 — Part of Mulberry’s exciting new development.
This mural loosely maps the composition and shifting perspectives of light, allowing it to guide the structure creating its paths. The palette follows the tones of Depot’s brand/identity, presenting information through warm gradations. Part of a larger continuum, each recent mural reframes the same idea from a different perspective. Here again, light and linearity playing the main role. Huge thanks to @jonathanbucklew@kristyscott4 for their trust and seamless collaboration. @catfishcallahan for referring my work. @ralfitoe for the assist and loops of laughter. El primo @mcarthurmusic for connecting the dots plus @bornandbreadfl for keeping me fueled on my drive back home. ♾️ 🧡
This month’s collectors evening focused on none other than Miami-based multidisciplinary artist @Johnny_Robles at the Private Gallery in Wynwood. If you missed it, there’s still time to experience his powerful exploration of color theory, architecture, and emotion now at @wynwoodartgallery

RSVP at wynwoodartgallery.com to meet @johnny_robles this Saturday and experience a survey of his works from 2021 until today. We will be unveiling new works that have never been seen before.
“Floater” Is a series of sculptural works explored between 2012-2014. Originally before creating these structures, I spent time investigating and building collapsible tools that allowed me to enlarge and study these forms in mid air, carried and punctured by wind. My aim was to achieve a still captured likeness to largely made soap bubbles.
Their natural forms have offered a window into fascinating scientific principles like surface tension, elasticity, and minimal surface structures, demonstrating how simple ingredients can create complex and beautiful phenomena that engages multiple senses.
Since childhood actual soap bubble forms have put me into a hypnotic like state, the refracted colors, forms reflecting their delicate and ephemeral nature all represented a feeling of life. The experiences were like being transfixed into another realm.

Today marks the physical birth anniversary of my most favorite human. For many years now she’s drawn from the unseen source of life, strength and wisdom that is within each and everyone of us. “Learning to die daily so that you can begin to live”. Happy Birthday mom.
The drawings are few of many from childhood of my mother sitting for meditation.
