I’ve often quickly pushed past achievements. This James Beard nomination couldn’t have come at a better time in B+B history. 5-6 years ago, it would have fed an ego and not the spirit. And while I’ve always done my best, I now know better. Today I feel we’re on the road to deserving even the nomination of something like this in our industry. In these moments of life, I hope you too have a friend, a random quart container of flour, and a car to film a dance break on a neighborhood street to one of your favorite hype songs while city road workers watch. Don’t mind me, I’m just enjoying a moment. A moment that represents the heart and soul and hard work of so many. A moment that recognizes the outstretched arms of our beloved Lakeland. And if the boss is watching, this happened off the clock.
