Thrilled to share @campdavis_ / Real People Music’s guest mix for Connexions affectives Tobi Giese is an illustrator, musician, and record collector based in Hannover, Germany, interested by obscure folk and country music. Listening to his mixes, I can’t help but feel a certain sense of melancholy - perhaps it’s knowing that these songs were written by forgotten artists from another era, or maybe it’s the raw emotion in the music he selects. In any case, Tobi knows how to nurture vulnerability, the sometimes trembling singing, and imperfect but sincere song-writing. Yet his selections are never bleak; instead, they are filled with hope and wonder, displaying the wide range of emotions that music can carry.Thanks Tobi for the beautiful mix!And be sure to check out his own music as @valiatinkle Link in bio

My last show of the season on @lyl_radio is available Crickets chirping, the soft evening breeze after a scorching day, neighborhood cats wandering outside, the distant noise of strangers’ laughter, an ambivalent feeling of peace mixed with a bit of melancholy… That’s what I think about when I imagine summer days, and that’s what I had in mind when I did this mix.link in bio
