Following the buzzing synths of last year’s egg-punk opus SORCS 80, John Dwyer is returning with what is shaping up to be a collection of more straightforward punk clearly inspired by the tremendous idiocy on full display every day of 2025.
The latest single, “Abomination,” takes aim at war with a video that serves as “a love letter to Dr. Strangelove” and “a big fuck-you to war mongers everywhere.” The relentless two-minute cut barely breathes as Dwyer’s yells are met by pounding guitar, frantic percussion, and wonky synths. “There is no righteous war; there is only war.”
