Scripted Hot Seat is a space for the writing community of Soho House to hear their work or work in progress brought to life in front of an audience and professional screenwriters. Created and hosted by Olivia Nixon & Augusta Woods each event showcases two 15 page sample scripts from new and upcoming writers. Both writers get their own table read with professional actors and the script will be discussed post performance with feedback given by our guest writer’s in attendance. This will be followed by a short break before heading into an interview and short Q & A with our guest writer’s. The audience will hear about their career, body of work and gain huge insight on navigating a career in the industry. Submissions close on 23 February. Send scripts to [email protected]. The event takes place in the Screening Room at 76 Dean Street on 12 March.

Ever wonder how an aspiring artist becomes a Hollywood icon? Veteran entertainment journalist Stacey Wilson Hunt traces the personal and professional histories of the industry’s most impactful storytellers in her podcast “My Hollywood Story,” the second season of which has been filming in front of live audiences inside the Luckman Club at Soho House West Hollywood. New episodes - featuring such wide-ranging talent as Kumail Nanjiani, Gus Van Sant, Charlie Sheen, Marlee Matlin, Patricia Clarkson and others - are streaming now on YouTube and Apple Podcasts (or wherever you get your pods). 📸 @kylantyng
