Nothing like tasting through 50 blending trials the same day you get promoted to Assistant Winemaker. 🍷😉 Please join us in congratulating Amy Garofano (@nwcellarrat ) on her new role at JM Cellars! ✨ Many of you already know and love Amy from behind the scenes (and sometimes behind the bar)😉 She started her journey with JM in the tasting room and has since become our wine educator, enologist, and cellar master… which is already quite the collection of “hats” before adding “Assistant Winemaker” to the list. 🤩 Beyond her incredible breadth of wine knowledge and thoughtful palate, Amy is also a genuinely kind, hardworking human with an amazing, wonderful heart. Between helping shape JM wines and co-founding @summerfriendswines , there’s very little Amy can’t do, and we feel incredibly lucky to have her creativity, passion, and talent woven into so much of what JM Cellars is today. 🍷 Cheers to Amy and this exciting next chapter! 🎉

Our Women for Wine Sense Grand Event’s day one was a home run! @winefolly founder Madeline Puckette did not disappoint! She shared her personal story that led to big success, along with a reality check and optimism for wine’s future. So many insightful talks from docs, scientists, winemakers, marketers and more! Naturally, lots of delicious pours and corresponding happiness and laughs as new relationships formed and conversations reflected on what we learned. We learned the history of our organization (hello temperance movement) and how it has resurfaced under a new name (Movendi). Dr Edward Miller shared research on wine and health and dove into the differences between between observational research and randomized,controlled trials. Encouraging! Abby Kent, PhD, shared insights on how consumers taste wine and how to best communicate with them. Corey Christman inspired us to be our best! Madeline Puckette led a Washington winemaker panel which stimulated robust interest and curiosity on the challenges and solutions winemakers face. And we all raised glasses to the winners in several achievement awards, led by outgoing president Amy Gross and incoming president Melissa Travis.
