Still in disbelief a week on from the
@aotearoamusicawards and wanting to thank you for all your kind messages and support â€ïž
Firstly just even to be nominated along side
@louisanicklin and
@veraellen_ is huge.
Making music and playing in bands is something Iâve done for over half my life and itâs been a roller coaster ride but one that I cant and wonât ever leave. I still think of myself as a drummer as thatâs where I stated and in doing that, played along side some really great songwriters and musicians and learnt a hell of a lot from every single one of them.
Jim Nothing started as a solo project in 2012 I had just got my first 4 track and became obsessed with DIY recording. Flash forward a decade later and Iâm still doing it but realised itâs more fun and sounds a hell of a lot better working with friends.
Very thankful to have
@brianfeary at the controls and mixing and
@francescarter with the voice and the encouragement
@brown__about__town there is no finer and Del
@buddymeow.meow for the sweetness and support
@faireyytales for joining the live band at such short notice right before a show.
@motte_ettom for being so instrumental in the marigolds
@ben_ordering who borrowed time for yellow house
Also
@meltedicecreamier @meritoriorec for organising the vinyl pressing and getting it out there.
Extra special thanks to
@95bfm and the wider student radio network for playing the music others wonât.
It is actually a village and thatâs just the smallest circle of concentric circles overlapping and intertwining with every artists orbit throughout Aotearoa and the entire world.
Thanks for everything, a night I wonât forget x đč
