Knitwear may still be very much needed looking at this week's forecast (lows of 2 tomorrow?! 😱) A colourful one from @lyndseycurrietextiles shoot earlier in the year. In case you missed it, we used a hired blank canvas to set up a temporary studio just for Lyndsey's brand shoot. It made capturing content super easy, from day in the life visuals to maker portraits. *May* I introduce you to Gill, the @_mindfulartist ? I am hoping now it's May that it means more predictable weather for outdoor portraits 😅 Gill is based in Fife, she creates fluid art and teaches Mindful Art classes with a focus on wellness and mindfulness as a means to manage chronic pain. In August I photographed a workshop at Balmalcolm Den, followed by some portraits of Gill with her work, and in the grounds. Say hi to Caishnah from @the.creative.tank 👋🏻 The Creative Tank is 'where music and creativity collide' - a multi purpose shop/studio/gallery space at 38 Dock Street. I had a lovely time photographing the space and chatting about Caishnah's art, inspirations, and Scottish music culture. Colour Block Fun 💙💚❤️ A very bold shoot from last year for @oliviajacqjewellery . ✨ A day in the life of a product and brand photographer (on a non photoshoot day) ✨ 1. We try and start the day in nature with our coffee in a travel cup. Swannie ponds is my favourite, it’s so pretty this time of year. 2. At breakfast I “unlock” my @trylockd phone to check emails and messages, I used to do this the second I woke up but this feels much better. Current breakfast on repeat is scrambled tofu sourdough. 3. I’ll move to my desk and work on admin including emails, shot lists and moodboards. I’m just checking a moodboard for an upcoming shoot to go through the props I need for styling. 4. Time to check the prop cupboard for my next shoot, I love picking out bits and pieces and seeing the styling come together. 5. There’s often client parcels to unpack which I check against the shot list, and see if I have any questions to ask them. 6. If I need to do some prop shopping I’ll head into town and have a nosy in the charity shops first. They can be great for unique finds and are the planet friendly shopping option but they can be unpredictable. 7. @sostrenegrene is my pick for a variety of linens and natural wooden pieces. I do also source props online or will upcycle things if I can. 8. I now have a part time @flourmilldundee membership so if I get the chance I’ll pop in for a focused editing session. I find I get so easily distracted when editing at home so it’s the perfect productive spot for me. 9. Time for a little treat and chat with a fellow freelance friend. Loving the strawberry matcha at @coffeebymana at the moment. 10. Back home on the bus which gave me time to sort out my to do list for the rest of the week. Normally I’d end up scrolling but I’ve Lockd myself out of all the scrollable apps. 11. Finishing the working day by setting up tomorrow’s photoshoot so I’m ready to start first thing. 12. Cooking is my way to unwind and helps transition my day from work to downtime. Currently working my way through @bosh.tv More Plants recipe book.
