Josh Hashâs work, often derived from late 20th century folklore, centers around memory, community, and representation. His heritage as a Persian/Swiss first-generation American has inspired an artistic practice that reflects on ideas of diaspora, commerce, and colloquial language â resulting in artworks that offer practical utility and tangible connections to everyday life an example of this being 2nd Saturdays, a monthly meetup group that tours galleries across various L.A. neighborhoods. See Hashâs âReliquaries Series (aka Postcards)â on view at Brand Library & Art Center before the exhibition closes.

Such a packed birthday month!
Appreciate all these memories and the people in my circle. The longer I live, the less I feel certain of anything. Though overwhelming, itâs a guaranteed adventure. For that Iâm grateful. These grey hairs on the other hand, not so much đ
Paintings up at the brand art center through May 9th

First true vacay in almost a decade lol. đď¸
Late post, but still a good reminder that life is short and our time with loved ones is often even shorter. Iâm someone who can obsess over the future, often at the cost of enjoying the present.
So, Iâm grateful to have people in my life that keep me grounded. I feel like I generally kinda suck at treating myself, but couldnât pass up the chance to celebrate a new decade with my baby cousin. Very cool seeing what youâve done with your first 30 years, and look forward to adventures for 30 more. @sara_delisioso

Jan 31 - May 9th
Honored to have so many of my post card pieces on display in one space. The 37 works on display all examine hand written letters sent from LA on the back of souvenir postcards throughout the 20th century. In a place this fluid and ever changing I find the colloquial ways we seek connection, tie us to the experience of this place across time. Also the paintings are cute. If youâre in Los Angeles come visit this historic venue and connect with some great local artists đđ˝
2016, Howâs it been 10 years already!? đ
Crazy thinking about how much has changed in the world, and within me, in the last decade. I was 22, had just left art school trying to find my way as a painter and curator, with zero clue about what I was doing or how to make it work lol. Luckily the people around me were filled with enough life and ambition to help me figure things out along the way.
These Gen Z throw backs make me feel old af, but I gotta say theyâre good reminders for this Unc to embrace the sense of adventure that my younger self was great at pursuing.
Cheers to the next 10 years on this rock with all of you. Letâs just hope weâre still hot in 2036. đŤśđ˝

âHear No Evilâ
Mixed media on vintage postcard
4â x 6â
One of the first postcard paintings I sold after graduating from a small liberal arts school in SF. At that time I was so determined to make it as an artist and find my way in the world. Though Iâve found some level of success, Itâs something Iâm honestly still striving for. Wanted to post it as a reminder heading into the new year to always hold your passions in your heart, live your life through love, and keep going no matter how many times you get knocked down. Eventually the fruits of your labor will bloom and thatâs really what this whole journey is about.
