This has been a strange couple of weeks to say the least. I’ve always felt that a big privilege of my job as a development exec for the last 10+ years is that I get a daily masterclass in storytelling working with screenwriters and authors whose work I love and respect, giving feedback, shaping stories, and helping navigate the ups and downs of studio development. This started as an exercise to try to walk a mile in someone else’s shoes and it’s grown so much bigger than I ever thought it would.
Couldn’t be happier that this is at @20thcenturystudios and w/ my friends and colleagues @wyckgodfrey , @martybowen21 , and @isaacklausner along with the spec maestros @scottglassgold and @davidboxerbaum , steering me through this unusual situation. And a special shoutout to @theblcklst and its readers, whose feedback helped give me the confidence to take the next step. Eternally grateful to all of them.
And as much as this is creature feature, the core of the story came from a personal place for me, so that it now has a home is meaningful on many levels. Now time to go make a killer 🐍🐍🐍 picture!
