Jeph Vanger (@jephvanger ) at VIMA Art Fair’s ‘The Waves Crashing’ Exhibition Jeph Vanger (b. 1989, Athens) is a sound artist and composer working across installation, dance, and theatre. His practice explores the relationship between sound, space, and the body, often unfolding through immersive environments. For ‘The Waves Crashing’, he presents ‘Do Signals Dream of Land?’ (2026), an 8-channel sound installation built from foghorn recordings. Arranged as a shifting field of distant calls, the work creates a maritime acoustic space where sound moves without fixed origin or destination. Drawing on the history of foghorns as tools of orientation and isolation, the installation treats sound as a repeated attempt at contact — fragmented, delayed, and in constant transit. Bit of a cheesy one but 🧀🧀🧀Today, Facebook reminded me my first sound artist/composer audition I attended, 8 years ago for @codadanceco @nikkikavuk . March 2018 marked the beginning of diving into creation of sound and music for dance (whilst still a student at the Sound Art course in Brighton). Forever thankful for the collabs, the laughs, and the love. 🧡 Much love to all the choreographers, directors, performers, technicians, and musicians I met along the way. I salute you 🫶🏼
