Exploring CoDa’s archive 🧳 Did you know that our Founder & Artistic Director Nikki has been choreographing work since 2012? In the first of a series opening up CoDa’s choreographic archive, this is a clip from Nikki’s first professional work: You Remind Me of Someone I Once Knew (2012), which explores how Nikki’s Mum was being affected by the Multiple Sclerosis she had been diagnosed with. Lindsey Winship, The Guardian’s Dance Critic, said of the piece: 'Compelling, played in perfect parallel, not just in timing but in weight and attack.' To find out more about our choreographic history see the CoDa website or our link in bio. Movement & making for disabled people and carers ✨ We’re very grateful to The Tudwick Foundation for their support in taking our Kaleidoscope in Motion workshop to community groups in Basildon. With their help we were able to take our work directly to young carers and people with early onset dementia in settings where they already felt safe and supported. In doing so we reached 75 local people who would not typically be able to access arts activity. Using kaleidoscopes as a metaphor for the value of seeing things from different perspectives, we supported participants to create their own kaleidoscope and explore how it appeared to distort and enhance their movements. At the same time, participants explored the themes of care, connection and family at the core of our new work in development Our Worlds Collide. Thanks again to The Tudwick Foundation and everyone who took part. #creativeessex #inclusiveart

Free Dance for Neurology professional development workshop 💫 Apply by Tuesday 12 May, 5pm to take part in our free training in Dance for Neurology @rhnuk on Monday 15 June. The workshop is also a chance to train as a freelance facilitator in hospital and community settings, and potentially join our team of Dance for Neurology facilitators. While we’re not necessarily looking for applicants with dance training, some arts or movement experience would be a plus, particularly if it involved working with people with disabilities. Interested? Find out more and apply via our website at our link in bio.

Exploring shifting perspectives through movement 👀 Last month we took part in @startthurrock ’s Green Light Festival, using the concept of kaleidoscopes to open up conversations about how looking at things differently can affect how we feel. We made kaleidoscopes together, then brought them to life with movement. The day was a beautiful reminder of how movement and creativity can open up conversations and foster connection. Thanks for having us Green Light Festival and thanks to everyone who took part! 📷 Jason Lynch

Behind the scenes at Sadler’s Wells East 👀 We had an amazing week in residence at the beautiful, light-filled and accessible Foyle Studio @sadlerswells_east developing our new work which explores the complexity of human connection and communication. It was a very special milestone to be together, choreographing with our new mirrored set courtesy of @ghostlightstagingltd and to be able to share the progress of what we’re creating with friends & family; partners & supporters. Looking back over 2025 👀 We'd like to thank all the people, organisations and funders who've supported our vision of making work with and for people affected by neurodisability, and who've helped make this such a productive year. This year, we're proud to have worked with new Dance for Neurology partners, presented our interactive work Beyond The Darkness to new audiences; and progressed the research and development for our most ambitious dance project yet - Our Worlds Collide - which has just been shortlisted for a second @weareunltd award! See our link in bio for the full round-up. Seasons greetings and best wishes for the New Year from all of us here at CoDa Dance Company. ✨ 📸 1) Dance for Neurology session at @headwayeastlondon with CoDa team @lauren_sberry and @jodiehoneybourne 2) Dance for Neurology session @rhnuk .
