It’s the most ordered dish on the menu: sashimi.
At @stoke.berlin , @jeffeclaudia treats it with the same mindset that defines everything coming out of the kitchen — precision, sourcing, and a deep respect for the product. What looks simple is anything but.
Each cut is about timing, technique, and trust in the ingredient. No excess, no distraction — just clarity on the plate.

At @stoke.berlin , @jessicafatcat and @jeffeclaudio built the kind of place they were missing themselves.
A wood-fire yakitori restaurant at its core, shaped by years in kitchens from Sydney to Copenhagen — and grounded in a simple idea: dining should feel relaxed, personal, and full of energy.
“It should be fun dining, not fine dining.”
It’s not just about what’s on the plate, but everything around it — the music, the light, the pace, the people in the room.
A restaurant that reflects how they work together: close, intuitive, and focused on creating a space others want to return to.

A look inside the new @shinogisystems knife case.
Built for chefs, collectors, and anyone serious about their knives. Every detail has a purpose, from the vertical knife storage and easy-access tool organization to the way it carries during prep, travel, and service.
Clean, functional, understated. All black textured materials, spring-loaded latches, woven rope handles, cutting board pads, and straps designed to move with you. Sleek enough to stand out, rugged enough for daily use.
It’s clear this was designed by people who understand what chefs actually need from a storage system. Thoughtful, durable, and built with real kitchen use in mind. After years of seeing and using different knife rolls and cases, this feels genuinely different.
A refined, utilitarian approach to knife storage that doesn’t overcomplicate things. Just well designed and built to work.
There’s really nothing else like it on the market right now.

Thanks so much to @jeffeclaudio , @jessicafatcat and the rest of the @stoke.berlin team for letting me capture their preservice the other night. What a team, what a space, what a vibe. 👏 🔥
Sound is a crucial part of the Stoke experience - we aim to consider the ear with the same focus we have for the palate. With this agenda as a starting point, from an early stage in the design process of Stoke we set off to develop a bespoke acoustic solution together with Berlin’s HAND HiFi @h.a.n.d.hifi .
The result: 4 point full-range system comprised of a pair of 3 way speakers with 15” woofer in a ported cabinet, a horn loaded cone driver for the midrange and a horn loaded super tweeter. Opposite of that, another pair with a 2.5 way design with two 10” woofers and a horn loaded compression driver. All developed with analog passive crossover circuits at HAND HiFi.
From the beginning, it was important that the system lived as part of the room’s architecture. Upon running acoustic simulations and treating the room with discrete material choices, we ended up with a design where the speakers sit on custom brackets that let them float, giving them a weightless presence in the experience.
We want you to hear them. We want you to see them.
What started with shared sessions and Sound Metaphors nights turned into a close friendship, and eventually into this system we live with every day.
These speakers bring us constant joy. Watching people come through, settle in, and connect through sound is also what the Stoke experience is about.
Big thanks also to @resorelectronics . We’re overjoyed to play on this beautiful mixer day in and day out.
PHAMILY DINNER
WORLD TOUR - EPISODE 1
with Westholme Nature-Led Australian Wagyu
At Stoke, Berlin with chefs Jeff Claudio & Tobias Beck
Three years since our last beer. Pints of Veltins, together in Berlin. Now these two are just ballin. Above the rim. Not walking, they are running. Their own business. Woodfire, ballroom and success. I feel very proud of them. I hope they feel the same. Less talking, let’s meet for lunch. Eat meat for brunch. Full menu. With nature-led Australian Wagyu. And friends of the F&B. Full bellies, fridges empty. Danke Jeff & Tobi. We left nothing. Berlin potluck. We’re out of Stoke.

At Stoke (@stoke.berlin ) in Berlin’s Kreuzberg district, Chef Jeff Claudio (@jeffeclaudio ) cooks over charcoal, with yakitori as the foundation.
The Canadian-Filipino chef was shaped by kitchens like Yardbird in Hong Kong and Burnt Ends in Singapore. Together with Jessica Tan (formerly of Copenhagen’s Relæ Group) (@jessicafatcat ) and Niklas Harmsen (@slurpremo ), they built Stoke from the ground up.
Sichuan heat, Cantonese comfort, Taiwanese and Korean influences drift through the menu, filtered through Japanese grilling technique and seasonal European ingredients.
In our latest digital story, Mi Mi Chloe Park (@airpleinmode ) visits Stoke to speak with Jeff about charcoal cooking, running a kitchen based on trust rather than hierarchy, and why hospitality still matters more than reinvention.
