Jazmine Hughes is an American writer and editor who spent eight years on the editorial staff of The New York Times, where she profiled celebrities including Lil Nas X, Whoopi Goldberg, and Viola Davis. Her work, which explores social codes, interpersonal relationships, and cultural influence, has also appeared in The New Yorker, Elle, and Cosmopolitan. Hughes has received two National Magazine Awards and an award from the National Association of LGBTQ+ Journalists. She has moderated panels and hosted
events for organizations including the Tribeca Film Festival, Netflix, and American Express, and has taught journalism at Cornell University and The New School. Her ritual serves her work as a writer.
