We are so excited to kick off our sixth holiday season of trans joy and affirmation! We’re starting things early again this year, and applications are welcome until 𝗦𝗲𝗽 𝟮𝟮. If you’re new here, @transanta is a mutual aid social media campaign that connects santas everywhere with trans youth in need. Through anonymous and safe gift-giving, trans and non-binary youth who are houseless, in foster care, or otherwise without vital support receive the gifts they want and the affirmation they need from people all over the world! Trans and non-binary youth 24 and under are welcome to participate. This project is specifically for showing support to youth in need. Please honor that, and join us in prioritizing these young people! 💌 𝗔𝗣𝗣𝗟𝗬 Use the link in our bio or go to 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮.𝗰𝗼𝗺/𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗹𝘆 Questions? Please read through everything on the Apply page! Applications close September 22 at 12 midnight ET. We know Christmas is far off, and your needs and wants might change in the meantime. Don’t worry, you’ll be able to add and remove items on your registry up until we post your letter! Trans youth in the United States, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Mexico, Spain, and the United Kingdom are invited to apply. This is a very short list of countries, but unfortunately we rely on the Amazon Registry platform to facilitate our program which limits our reach at this time. 🎁 𝗕𝗨𝗬 𝗚𝗜𝗙𝗧𝗦 Once we start posting lists, you can use the link in our bio to find each person’s registry. From there, you can anonymously buy the things they’re asking for, and they’ll be sent directly to the youth! We’ll be posting the letters on a rolling basis throughout the holiday months, so follow along and send your love to trans youth! 🤑 𝗗𝗢𝗡𝗔𝗧𝗘 $$$ If you also want to contribute to our mission directly, we welcome your donations and encourage you to sign up to be a monthly supporter! We are able to accept tax-deductible monetary donations through the link on our website — thanks to @alliesinarts , the incredible non-profit that houses us. Help us continue to show young trans people that they are loved and cherished exactly for who they are!

Hey, Kyle here, I’m one of the co-founders of Transanta. Transanta is a cute name, but it isn’t really about Christmas. It’s about the importance of being seen, it’s about trans joy and trans futures. It’s about deepening the connection that trans youth feel with their larger community, and to their own lives. There is so much suffering in the world, there are so many crises and issues that demand our attention. It can feel very overwhelming and I know personally I often feel powerless to help. But this is a very hands on, direct way you can make a significant impact on the lives of trans youth: a minority group that faces significantly higher than average rates of emotional and physical abuse, homelessness, not to mention mental health struggles due to the constant onslaught of transphobic rhetoric both from intimate family systems and society at large. So please, join me in showing trans youth just how much love and joy exists in this world! Buy gifts from the registries, or make a tax-deductible donation directly to Transanta today. Use the link in our bio or go to buy.transanta.com to shop from registries! When you add a gift to your cart, make sure you select the gift recipients address at checkout! And only shop from one registry at a time, so things dont get mixed up! You can also go to transanta.com/donate to make a tax-deductible donation, and help keep the lights on in our workshop! We couldn’t do any of this without your support.

@transanta is a trans-led project running out of non-profit @alliesinarts . Founded in 2020 by Indya Moore, Kyle Lasky, and Chase Strangio, @transanta was born of a desire to center trans care, joy and giving at a time of escalating violence and attacks on the trans community. @transanta is a mutual aid social media campaign that connects anonymous gift-givers with trans youth who are unhoused, in foster care, or otherwise without crucial support they need to thrive. @transanta exists to show trans youth that they are loved and supported, and that they have a family of people around the world who care for them, believe in them, and want them to succeed. Research shows that trans youth with supportive families have a 52% decrease in suicidal thoughts—@transanta aims to broaden our understanding of family and structural support so that our entire community can experience affirmation and love even when those close to them may hurt or fail them. Ultimately, our capacity for love, care, and connection can disrupt some of the structural limits on our survival opportunities and create more space for people to thrive and continue rich trans legacies of social and political transformation. TWO WAYS TO GIVE 1. Buy gifts directly for trans youth from their gift registry links → link is in our bio! 2. Donate money to @transanta and support the future of our project → transanta.com/donate (these donations are tax-deductible!) HOW DOES IT WORK? 1. Trans youth send in their letters and gift registries to @transanta ; 2. @transanta posts the letters and links them to the registries; 3. Santas all over the world use the registries to buy gifts which are sent directly to the recipients without any personal information being shared! WHO CAN BE A SANTA? Anyone with the means to buy a gift, leave a loving and supportive comment, or donate directly to @transanta to support the future of our project!

Continuously inspired by the letters to @transanta , @alliesinarts is beyond excited to launch our fourth year of Transchool! Twice a week throughout Pride month, aspiring writers 18-30 based in the US will have the opportunity to craft their voices and put their narratives to paper in an introductory workshop in trans creative writing. After completing the course and workshopping their creative pieces, their work will be published in an edited collection of trans narratives! The course is FREE and students are PAID a stipend to participate! Apply now! → alliesinarts.org/transchool For the June month of Pride, participants will meet twice a week on Zoom with Gender Studies and English Professor Dr. Ren Heintz (they/them). The workshop will take you through an introductory exploration of creative trans writing, in which we will read from award winning authors like Cameron Awkward-Rich and Torrey Peters. We will learn how trans folks have told their stories before us so that we can have the courage to tell our own stories now. Participants will practice writing their own personal stories, creative imaginaries, or poetry through writing exercises and in class workshops. The workshop will also have drop-in guest sessions, with cameos from prominent trans writers and activists. In the aftermath of the workshop, participants will be given the chance to have their stories published in an edited collection. Get all the details and apply now! → alliesinarts.org/transchool Applications due by April 1st, 2026 Thank you for sharing your stories!

THANK YOU to our team of elves, to everyone who’s ever bought gifts or donated to our program and to every young trans person who’s taken the time to share their stories with us and ask for what they need. We see you, we hear you, and we love you! @transanta season actually lasts all year long to create the infrastructure and build the team to run this amazing project. Donate at the link in our bio to keep the program going- and growing!

K, 16: "Dear Transanta, I have yet to figure out a name for myself, and I am still seeking my identity. I’m scared to talk about myself with the people closest to me, but Transanta has always been a safe place for me. Recently I have felt most comfortable with identifying as agender. I realized that no matter where I thought I belonged, it never felt right. I have always felt as if I wasn’t connected to my gender, and that I am just a person who wants to create art. Life has been difficult, but it has been shaping me for my future. Life may be difficult for you too, but persisting through rough times always ends well. I wish everyone a happy holidays and to forever stay strong despite the discouragement of negative people."⁣ ⁣ Be a #transanta — follow the link in our bio and then click on the post for this person and you can buy gifts to be sent directly to them! Liam, 21: "Hi, I’m Liam, I’m a bigender gaybian trans guy, I’m homeless currently after fleeing domestic violence and abuse twice; don’t have access to any gender affirming care at all. I am also disabled mentally and neurologically but can’t really list everything here or it’d be too long. I’m also discovering I may have had POTS my whole life. I would really love enough money for transtape, a packer + packing boxers/underwear, fake facial hair (plus helpful suggestions for being able to find realistic ones), gender affirming clothing, over the counter medicine and enough money for food/groceries and electrolytes, compression socks to keep myself awake and stabilized. I recently had a huge dysphoria spike and wanted to commit, but my friend was there and I’m really really grateful for him. Generally I need money for basic gender affirming care and stuff for my chronic illnesses. I’m sorry I was late and I hope that this reaches you folks well. Just know, if I had anything, I’d give everything to you, too. Happy holidays to everyone or happy winter to those who don’t celebrate any of em. Thank you so much."⁣ ⁣ Be a #transanta — follow the link in our bio and then click on the post for this person and you can buy gifts to be sent directly to them! Transchool had a big year in 2025! 🎉💫 Our Transchool students and mentors @jaclynpmoore @thomaspagemcbee @ren_heintz read their work aloud for audiences at the @feministcenterforcreativework   and @chevaliersbooks . In the summer, we welcomed our third cohort of creative writers and mentors for our creative writing workshop. 15 students from across the nation (New York, North Carolina, Georgia, Oregon, California) paired up with mentors Andrea Lawlor @anderlawlor , Jaclyn Moore @jaclynpmoore , Eleanor Jean, and Chris Vargas @chrisevargas as well as our mental health advocate @shosh.k_ . We also teamed up with Penguin Random House @penguinrandomhouse thanks to the generous support of @erinwrites93 who created a workshop about publishing in the industry just for our students. Last but not least- We published our second anthology, Transchool Vol. 2, and re-printed Transchool Vol. 1. Get your copies at the link in bio 🤓🌹📚So much love ❤️ So much writing ✍️ So many stories 🏳️‍⚧️Thank you to all our Transchool students, our mentors, our mental health advocate, our program director, our publishers, and all the folks who donate their time, talents and resources to allow us to continue paying trans writers to learn, grow and share their stories 🥹✨🌹
