I recently celebrated with fellow creatives & visionaries at
@exploremidtown ‘s 40 Artists of Midtown! I was one of these 40 Artists recognized for shaping the character, culture, and vibrancy of Sacramento’s core. I am thankful to be a part of this :o)
I was the guest juror for Sacramento City College’s Student Art Show
@kondos.gallery where I was overjoyed by the abundance of creativity! I brought a small group of my students to see it, which really inspired them. Thank you Dee!
At my job, one of my roles is to foster community connections through trips to art galleries, studios, and creative spaces. We visited the
@sac_lcac where
@rurevel gave us the best tour. Then we went to my favorite, the
@saclib — we enjoyed their zine library & explored all the wonderful free things they offer, thanks to Ricardo & Christina! I also taught a basic stamp-making workshop for the first time in a long while.
At
@walpublicmarketgallery I stepped into a mentor role with
@artbykeyliana as their co-curator. I hosted a couple of inspiring events: a conversation with Natalia Contesse as part of my mentorship through the
@saccityarts Emerging Curator Fellowship. And
@culturethroughcloth Meet the Artists fundraiser, which I encourage you to learn about and support. Lastly, I felt really cool standing alongside an artist I admire
@mal.inky for their first solo exhibition! 🩸
