It’s so important to have an identity that signals our taste, values, and attention to detail. Huge thanks to the team at Sometimes Always for helping bring it to life
.
Over the next few weeks, we’ll be sharing new and classic work that’s shaped what many of you call the “Found Objects sound” — starting with new sound design and mix work for Stink, FC Union, and Adidas.

Thrilled to share that my Heart Eyes score is on the ballot in the Best Score Soundtrack for Visual Media category.
It was an absolute joy working with my dear friend @joshruben on this one, crafting music that weaves between heart, humor, and horror. Thank you to everyone who brought this hilarious and horrific film to life. 💘🔪
Your consideration means so much. ❤️

Anu Valia’s We Strangers is a razor-sharp debut, staging a subtle yet powerful critique of privilege, status, and the quiet machinery of elite social norms.
In Theaters August 22nd!
Original Music by: @jaywadley of @found.objects
Music Supervision by: @kattmatt of @found.objects
Music coordinator: @leecash_
Additional music by @zak.engel@thisisbenmarshall@adammweiss
Through its tightly contained 80-minute runtime, Valia crafts an aesthetic that is both minimal and potent: her film’s atmospheric framing captures the strange intimacy of domestic spaces and the suffocating weight of social conformity. Charlotte Hornsby’s cinematography and James Codoyannis’s editing render each moment fluid and volatile, underscoring the unpredictability beneath ordinary surfaces.
Looking back on my score for David Mamet’s Henry Johnson, I’m struck by how meaningful it was to approach the music from a more concert-style perspective.
Written as a violin duet with chamber percussion, the music feels less like a traditional score and more like a companion piece to the film. It’s interstitial and suspended, something that lingers rather than resolves. Quietly reflective, holding tension and embracing open space.
Working with Mamet was surreal. In high school, I studied his monologues in drama class. Years later, getting to collaborate with him and respond to his work through music was a full circle moment I never saw coming.
Huge thanks and congrats to my bud Evan Jonigkeit! The film stars Evan and Shia LaBeouf. If you haven’t seen it yet, you can rent it at henryjohnsonmovie.com.
And a massive thanks to my frequent collaborator and brilliant violinist @findingdoori_ 🎻🎻
Honored to have given the commencement address at my undergrad alma mater, @oklahomacityuniversity , for the Class of 2025. On the 20th anniversary of my own graduation, it couldn’t have been more meaningful to stand in that same room, speaking to students sitting in the exact position I once was.
Thank you for the warm welcome, the kind words—and for actually laughing at my jokes. An unforgettable experience. Thank you to the staff, faculty, trustees, President Evans, students, and loved ones for inviting me to share in your special day.
Big thank you to my mom and @heyytinam for listening to me give the speech 20 times and offering such great notes—and to my childhood friends for coming out to celebrate over dinner. Feeling deeply grateful.
I met this amazing woman a year ago today, and she’s brought so much joy into my life.
We celebrated last week by revisiting a few spots from our very first dates: The Chelsea Hotel and Superbueno. We had five wonderful months together in New York before she left for grad school at Cambridge, and even with the distance, this year has been filled with so many adventures.
From Amsterdam, the Paris Olympics, Mexico, and two trips to Toronto, to Sundance, Iceland, and many NY visits, with daily FaceTimes in between, we’ve been incredibly lucky to share so much.
And now… just a little over month until she’s back!
❤️❤️ Happy Anniversary @heyytinam . Here’s to many more adventures together ❤️❤️
The Wedding Banquet returns—reimagined for a new generation. 🎞️💍
