@tobillamuffin@kahlilnewton@spiffyistrash@the.maniiiii@_ayukarts thank you guys for this video. Everything done for the song and during the shoot was so great and really allowed me to learn cool stuff about rotoscoping. And I appreciate it, whether it be hanging out and helping me get extra shots a few months later or being excited in 15° weather, you guys all made the shoot a lot smoother and a lot more fun.
I finally remembered that this account is not just for my video work and design work. And I looked through my posts to find nothing new outside my work lol
So it's been 2.5 years of dating my lady, who pushes me to be better every day and she makes me understand the value of my work. And now we work together on everything from videos to plushies and kids books.
9 months since getting Rufus, my very strange 3 year old rescue cat who's more like an unemployed roommate than a pet. Refusing to make any effort to communicate unless I'm getting food that he could also snack on, and passive aggressive stares included.
About 1 month of finding out that there's an alternate angle of the photo that carried me through college.
Not even counting almost a year since college graduation, switching jobs, and in 2 days officially having every video from my college thesis project released, it's been busy. I've been working 7 days a week since January, hoping to build a future and continue to forge a way for me to be happy, as right now, I am the happiest I've ever been thanks to my friends, my love, and the creature.
This Fridayyyyy

Moments from the FARAWAY shoot with AyelookitsBrady in Columbus, Ohio. This is one of my favorite videos I've directed, I was so glad to kick off my music video series last year with Brady because he was so dedicated to making this look as good as it could, and he was willing to stick around for long hours to make that happen.
I was really excited to focus in on my college thesis with a bunch of free music videos for local artists, and the first one I did in that director, shooter, editor role was this one for Brady. And I'm really happy with the outpouring of love not just for the visuals but for the music Brady & Malccs created.
I shot almost everything with a pro-mist filter under some very harsh hot lights. We brought haze as well, I really wanted that ethereal smoky jazz club atmosphere to be the centerpiece.
This was also a challenge because I really wanted to try something new for a few of the shots: shooting with 2 cameras at once. I'd set up a more composed shot on a tripod, and my buddy Sam would film the same take but on a shoulder rig, being closer to Brady and allowing for more camera movement as Brady expressed himself on camera while performing, and meshing those types of scenes together I think is what created that perfect blend.
I could probably talk about how I wanted to light this and how Sam and I made it happen for another few paragraphs but I'll spare you fr
Working on this was a dream, I couldn't have imagined a better outcome. Thanks to @ayelookitsbrady for working with me on this I was so nervous to get started but your performance and dedication to this album and project made it easier, and thanks to @malccs for reworking that beat and really creating something special, I was blown away when I dropped the new audio file into the edit.
Here's a few moments (plus the whole video) for Debs and Malcolm's song Save U, shot in Columbus, Ohio in one evening in a studio space, it was fun.
I met Debs at Beat Bazaar, I was filming AyelookitsBrady, Joey Aich and Dom Deshawn up front and he tapped me on that shoudler and said he wanted to work together, he ended up sending me some tracks and one of them was Save U.
At this point I was pretty deep into my thesis project (a bunch of free music videos for local artists, plus a zine, and some little stuff like trading card and whatnot) and I didn't have a lot of time to dedicate to more music videos. But the song was short, clean, and sounded good. I met with Malcolm and Debs with a plan, we missed a few ideas but all things considered, I'm happy I got the experience of meeting them and getting to work with the two of them on this video.
Thank you to the extras, and Debs's air mattress. The first air mattress I've seen with a headboard.
Some moments from a video from a while back! I was brought on by my buddy Sam to work with @brightmossproductions on this music video for the song Just A Phone Call by Yulia Duzy shot in Cleveland, OH.
The set design and costumes were gorgeous, I was really thrilled to work on the project, I brought the grip/gaff and camera equipment, and when I arrived to set and saw the work the team had done, I realized that this felt like the perfect project for the Promist filter, and it was! I think the dreamy-ness and soft highlights really add to this video. It's also not often I can use a slider, so that was a lot of fun, in-camera movement always feels really great.
I ended up doing camera, lighting, editing and color for this project, and it is one of the most colorful projects in my portfolio. Very very happy to have worked with such a good team, and of course, my friend Sam, who also worked with me on the AyelookitsBrady video for Far Away.
Thanks to Brightmoss for having me, and thanks to Yulia Duzy, the set designers, and the Hair/Make Up team for really selling this project through incredible performance on camera and creating the look and feel of a bigger budgeted project.
Here are some quick moments filmed during the production of Hide Away, a music video for Athens, Ohio artist Lionel Scott.
We filmed in Columbus, Newark, and Granville Ohio over course of 2 days, most of the time was spent traveling and setting up my CRT idea.
We shot the video using a camcorder tethered to a CRT sending a live feed, then filmed the CRT screen with a blackmagic pocket 6k pro. Also we just used the pocket 6k pro both handheld and on a tripod for other shots throughout.
Robin, the other videographer on set, was able to snag some really cool anamorphic lenses from their college for us to use and get some of those orange lens flares creating some really cool imagery and a fun experience, I've never used true anamorphic lenses on a project before and it looks so crispy and clean. It adds some spice to the shots we utilized the lenses for.
This was a fun shoot, I had an absolute blast bringing this together with the team.
