🐟 Despite the weather making my socks wet and hands shivering… I had a BLAST!!! Fan favorite AND artist favorite?!? No way 😫💕 I can’t thank you all enough.
First time participating in @scrawlartsfest , first time painting a big piece in acrylic and first time painting in a year ( ✌︎'ω')✌︎

Also to the other artists! Literally went to the event fangirling over artists I admire and getting to PAINT WITH THEM… and meeting new artists that I get to look up to!!! ahaha what a dream ✨

Sometimes there’s a timeframe when things are the “best”. Whether that’s fish, food, or painting a mural. But their impact still continues even after that time. I hope it makes you reflect on time, consumption and nature :)

🐟 I designed a shirt for @aquariumadventurecolumbus !!!
Aquarium Adventure was on my have-to-go list when I first moved to Columbus 4 years ago and I loved it so much, I used them for a rebrand project when I started at @ccadedu .
Recently they reached out saying they remembered my work all these years and made it come to life for their staff 🫶

Denim skirt out of Jay’s pants 😈
The fishes are ちょきんぎょ (Chokingyo) a retired mascot for JA bank.
I always had a vivid memory of my grandmother’s sugar bin, which was a chokingyo shaped container and thought it was just adorable.
Chokingyo was supposed to represent “a fish that brings good luck and wealth” to bank customers so as added luck… I embroidered 円 (yen) which is japanese currency but also has a double meaning of circle ⭕️

I painted an entire DUMPSTER!
Pearl Alley Jam was super fun with good music, cool vendors and of course, rad artists 🤩
Tried something new… inspired by my graphic design job…. my brain’s been thinking non-stop design concepts so I wanted to hand paint something more poppy and designer-ly.
But like my paintings, I wanted to highlight the consumption and productization of animals and thought it was fitting to tie it to mindful food waste.
